Bayankala is the watershed between the Yellow River and the Yangtze River. In the geographical location with roughly the same longitude between north and south, if the riverbed of the main stream of the Yangtze River is higher than that of the main stream of the Yellow River, then a tunnel will be dug across Bayan Kara, and the water from the Yangtze River will flow into the Yellow River by itself. However, the actual situation is that the riverbed of the Yellow River is always much higher than that of the Yangtze River at the same longitude position between the north and the south, generally about 100 ~ 600 meters higher. In this way, the artificially induced river basin moved backward from south to north, which expanded the catchment area of the Yangtze River basin and reduced the precious water resources originally belonging to the north of China.
