How often should antifreeze be added?
Under normal circumstances, antifreeze should be added once every two or three years, but as long as it is lower than the off-line level, antifreeze storage tank should be added. Regarding the replacement cycle of antifreeze, it is also necessary to refer to objective factors such as vehicle type, driving road conditions and vehicle strength. It is recommended to replace antifreeze according to the time specified in the vehicle operating instructions.
Antifreeze can also be called antifreeze coolant. At present, the antifreeze we usually use is called ethylene glycol water-based type. Most car owners know that antifreeze is mainly used to take away excess heat for engine cooling, and at the same time, it is also necessary to prevent the cooling water in the pipeline from freezing in winter, thus cracking the radiator.
The replacement method of antifreeze is as follows
Before completely replacing the antifreeze, it is necessary to conduct a comprehensive inspection to see if there are any signs of leakage and cracks in each pipeline. The key is to check the five-way water pipe. After the antifreeze flows through the five-way pipe, it is distributed to different parts of the car to play a role. If there is antifreeze leakage in this part, replace the water pipe or re-fix the interface according to the situation.
Drain the old antifreeze, and then clean the liquid channel with clean water. Add clear water to the antifreeze replenishment tank, then inject clear water into the tank to make the clear water continuously flow through the engine cooling system, and then idle for 3 to 5 minutes to circulate water. The water that starts to flow out of the pitcher is a little pink. Continue to inject clean water until the water flows out clean. Be careful not to forget to remove the heating water pipe and clean the water in the heating water tank.
After draining for about 1 hour, add new antifreeze from the water pipe of the water tank (radiator), and then add another bucket of antifreeze to the antifreeze tank until the antifreeze tank is almost full. Take a taxi for about 10 minute. At this time, due to the exclusion of some air, the liquid level of the cooling system drops, and then antifreeze is added until the highest mark of the storage tank is "MAXT".
