In these TV dramas, we will find that there are two kinds of hats for Qing Palace dramas in the mainland, namely, winter style and summer style. There is only one winter hat in Hong Kong's Qing Palace drama, which may be because Hong Kong does not attach importance to hats.

First, the Hong Kong crew did not understand the hat culture of the Qing Dynasty. Since ancient times, official hats have been very particular, and hats also represent a person's position in that dynasty. In the Qing Dynasty, the decoration on the official hat of the Qing Dynasty was "Dai Huayu". The top hat is the jewel on the hat, and the flower feather is the peacock feather for decoration. Hualing is the dream object of Qing officials. For example, Shi Lang, the general of Jinghai in Qing Dynasty, made a meritorious military service, and Kangxi gave him the title. He would rather have no title than Kangxi gave him a flower feather with two eyes. Hualing is basically divided into one eye, two eyes and three eyes. In Hong Kong, many crew producers don't pay attention to the culture of the Qing Dynasty and the exquisite hats of the Qing Dynasty, so they only have winter hats.

Second, it can save the cost of making hats. The mainland pays more attention to details and scenes, and Qing Palace dramas are often realistic in the mainland, which will also create a strong atmosphere for actors. Hong Kong, on the other hand, pays little attention to the details of the Qing Palace drama, and it is more economical to save hats.

Thirdly, Hong Kong is located near the west, and our understanding of history of qing dynasty is not thorough. We know that Hong Kong is close to the west. It was ruled by Britain in those days, and they had a little conflict with the history of the Qing Dynasty. So they don't have a deep understanding of the history of the Qing dynasty, and they just want to be vivid when shooting the Qing palace drama. Don't think so much, don't care about the details.
