Public or private kindergarten? I value this more when choosing a kindergarten
With the annual school entrance season approaching again, parents who are preparing to send their children to kindergarten must have been struggling a lot. Should I choose public or private? Should I send my child to a bilingual kindergarten? How do you know whether a kindergarten is suitable for your child? Let’s listen to the experiences of people who have been there:
1
Our experience
There are five differences between public and private schools
1. Hardware considerations
Private park: The area is moderate, and the playground and facilities are very new. In addition to the conventional slides, there are also water pipes for water play on the wall, sand pools, climbing, etc. The classroom is relatively large, with inner and outer coverings, but sleeping and classes are held in the same room. There are many outdoor activities.
Public park: The school is very large, but the recreational facilities are relatively old. The classroom has three suites, one for teaching, one for games, and one for sleeping.
2. Teachers and teaching concepts
Private kindergarten: There are no more than 40 people in a class and 4 teachers. The teachers are relatively young, enthusiastic and motivated, and communicate well with parents. The rate is relatively high. Post at least one set of photos every day (playing, playing games, crafts, drawing...)
The parent group can talk and discuss freely, allowing parents to ask questions such as changing their children's clothes, or asking whether they had a good meal at noon, etc. .
Public kindergarten: 30 people per class, 3 teachers. It’s better to choose a teacher than a school! ! No matter how good the school is, it will be useless if there are many teachers in the class who are in trouble! In kindergarten, children are exposed to the small environment of the class, not the larger environment of the school!
3. Lifestyle and diet
Private kindergarten: Provides breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the quality of the food is okay.
Public parks: only provide breakfast and lunch. After getting up in the afternoon, there will be a meal of fruit, which looks slightly better from the recipe. In addition, teachers and students eat the same food, so food safety is relatively guaranteed.
4. School spirit
Public schools: Generally speaking, the requirements are stricter and more emphasis is placed on independence and collective activities. As soon as we entered kindergarten, the teacher would ask us to close our little mouths and put our little hands on our knees.
Possibly due to safety and other factors, I usually do more painting and handicrafts, but relatively less sports activities. As for the knowledge category, the requirements of the Ministry of Education are now fully implemented, and no pre-school knowledge learning is carried out.
Private schools: Pay more attention to diversified development and respect children's individual needs. In the knowledge category, students will have to study in middle class and read words every day. Some private kindergartens here have written homework in the second semester of middle class, such as arithmetic.
However, private schools are quite polarized. The good ones are very good, while the bad ones are not very secure. Teacher mobility is very high. Friends around me have experienced kindergarten changing teachers four or five times in three years.
5. Services & fees
Private kindergarten: There is one hour of care and extracurricular activities after school (handicrafts, painting, dancing, Lego, etc...), you can 17: 30 to pick up children, but the tuition is more expensive.
Public parks: Leave the park at 16:30 on weekdays. The fee is 600 yuan per month plus 18 yuan for food per day.
Back to the original question, when choosing a kindergarten, whether it is public or private, I think distance is the most important!

My suggestions for choosing a school for kindergarten
1. Close to home;
2. Within the economic scope;
3. If you meet the above conditions, if you are interested in a municipal first-level kindergarten or a municipal model kindergarten, it is recommended that you go to a public kindergarten. If your registered permanent residence is in a secondary kindergarten, you can choose to study in a private school.
Most of the privately run projects are Level 2 or unrated, and they do not participate in the assessment of grades. Of course, there are also private ones at the demonstration park level, but only very few.
How do you know what level your kindergarten is? Look at the bronze plaque hanging at the entrance of the kindergarten, or ask the neighborhood committee directly, and they will tell you the answer.
3. Psychological, material, and living habits.
You must be prepared for these three aspects when entering kindergarten.
Now that we have finished talking about school selection, let’s talk by the way. Let’s talk about the things you should pay attention to after choosing a school and before the official start of school.
1. Be mentally prepared when entering kindergarten: tell your children more interesting things about kindergarten, take your children to play with some brothers and sisters who have already gone to kindergarten, and exchange experiences about going to kindergarten. You can also read some books and picture books about going to kindergarten.
2. Parents should make material preparations: Prepare the things that children need to bring to school.
Our kindergarten requires sweat towels, colored pens, outline pens, colored clay, anti-cut scissors, and name stickers. The quilt, mattress, and sheets are all the same, but we changed the quilt core and pillow core ourselves.
3. Preparation for living habits: Two months before entering kindergarten, you must pay attention to cultivating children's habits.
In terms of living habits, there are three main aspects.
1. Unify work and rest time. Get up on time every morning and take a lunch break on time at noon.
2. Develop life skills. The main thing is to learn how to eat, dress, and wear pants by yourself...
After entering the first semester, winter gradually begins. If the child does not know how to eat by himself, the food will quickly become cold if the teacher feeds him. Yes, it is not good for the child's health, so the child must learn to eat by himself. When you get up from a nap at noon, don't wait for the teacher to get dressed. Try to get dressed yourself, otherwise you will easily catch a cold.
Emphasize to your children more about hot and cold times and the time to put on and take off clothes. If you feel your child is hot while playing, don't just help him take off his clothes. Instead, ask him to stop and ask him: How do you feel now? Guide the child to say it's hot right now. Then ask the child: What should I do if it’s hot? Guiding children to get dressed. By repeating this for several months, the child will gradually learn that he must take off his clothes when he is hot and put on clothes when he is cold.
3. Learn to express. Parents can play the role of teachers at home and let their children make their own requests.
As the saying goes: Children who cry have milk~ There are so many children, and it is impossible for teachers to pay close attention to every one of them. Only when children encounter difficulties, they take the initiative to ask for help from the teacher. The teacher is Will definitely help solve it.
One thing that needs special attention is that when children have physical conflicts with others, they must be educated to protect themselves. First, he shouted a warning to attract the attention of the teacher and classmates, "Don't hit me. If you hit me again, I will tell the teacher." If the opponent continues to attack, hide if you can. If you can't hide, you must learn to fight back. Don't be a fool.
If the other child does this occasionally, parents must be considerate of each other and not be aggressive and hold on. On the one hand, it will make other parents think that you are "pretentious" and educate their children to stay away from yours. On the other hand, as things change, your children may one day hit other people's children. However, for real naughty children and their parents, you must warn your children to stay away from this family.
Kindergarten is the first step in a child’s life. Parents must have a good mentality. After all, when children live in a collective, it is impossible to take care of everything like at home. When taking care of children at home, they should be more extensive and let them have more independent space. This way, they will not be at a loss when they go to kindergarten, and at least they can have some fun on their own.
Some people say that there is no best kindergarten, only the most suitable kindergarten.
