Travel to Tibet

Have you prepared the necessary supplies?

Many travelers have some superstitious fears about Tibet, and they always want to bring more equipment to make themselves safer. In fact, it is unnecessary.

The less luggage you carry when traveling in Tibet, the better, but you must have enough. Carrying a heavy backpack on the plateau is a great burden. The principle of carrying things is light and practical. If possible, don't carry unnecessary things on the plateau, and make full use of local facilities and services. In addition, considering the frequent movement, don't have more than two pieces of luggage.

backpack

the difficulty of the place you plan to go determines the size of your backpack. If you want to go to a remote place, or take part in some outdoor activities, such as turning to the sacred mountain and camping by the sacred lake, then two backpacks, one big and one small, should be a more reasonable choice. If it's not a long trip, you don't need a backpack over 45 liters.

Some travelers are used to carrying purses, so be careful not to put them at the back of their bodies in the town.

Clothing

On the whole, the temperature in Tibet is much lower than that in inland areas at the same latitude, especially in mountain passes and high-altitude areas. Moreover, the wind is strong and the rain and snow come suddenly, which brings a lot of trouble to travel clothes.

Therefore, down jacket is a must, unless you only plan to go to Lhasa and Shigatse for a group tour in July and August. Even in the hottest summer, in the Himalayas and Ali and other places, it is generally around ℃ at night, and it is colder in Yamaguchi. At the same time, the temperature difference between day and night in the plateau area is large, even in the warmest season every year, the weather is still cold in the morning and evening. If you are mainly active in the Yalong River Valley, wear a down vest or sweater, and add a waterproof and windproof coat when it is cold.

If you go hiking or climbing in Tibet, you should also prepare a set of sweat-wicking underwear. In the wild, it is very troublesome to have sweat sticking to your body, and it will quickly take away the heat from your body, which is very dangerous.

In addition, warm fleece is also indispensable.

all the equipment, including coat, trousers and shoes, should be waterproof. It rains almost every day in July and August in Tibet, and the waterproof property of clothes is not good, which is really unimaginable. In the rainy season, there are many urgent rains in Lhasa at night, while the rainfall in Linzhi and other areas is much more frequent.

Sleeping bag

It is warm enough to bring a 1kg duck down sleeping bag in July and August. Buy more than 8% cashmere, which is not much bigger than a large bottle of coke after compression, and it is very convenient to carry. If it is still too big, you can use a set of compression belts to compress it, and you can reduce the volume by another third.

it's better to bring a damp-proof pad. In some places, when you need to stay at ordinary people's homes or highway classes, all you can provide is an empty stone house. Even if you have a sleeping bag, you can't sleep directly on the ground.

shoes

You need a pair of good shoes when you travel, especially in Tibet. Waterproofing is particularly important in the rainy season in Tibet.

the best choice is hiking shoes with hard soles and high tops. Especially when hiking, the road surface is often not very good, and the high-heeled hard-soled shoes are not easy to enter the sand, which avoids rubbing their feet or stepping on them, and it is not easy to fall off when crossing the muddy ground. Moreover, the waterproof and warmth of hiking shoes are also better. If you really need higher water resistance, you can cooperate with waterproof foot covers to protect your trouser legs from being wet by rain.

It is better to match cotton socks with hiking shoes, so that the feet and shoes can be more closely attached. Wear an extra pair of socks if you take a long walk. If they are new shoes, you'd better wear them some days in advance to run in. At the same time, I suggest you bring a pair of slippers, so as not to bathe barefoot in the bathroom.

Self-driving equipment

Self-driving travel must bring necessary outdoor supplies, tents and sleeping bags are best taken into account, and another can of gas (or oil stove), the simplest and most reliable burner and a pressure cooker may also help you. The gas tank must be fixed during transportation. Also remember not to overload your luggage. Generally, there should be no more than 4 passengers in Cherokee and no more than 5 passengers in Toyota Land Cruiser.

bicycle gear

should have enough supplies and equipment, such as tents, sleeping bags, drinking water and food for 2-3 days, various medicines and so on. The requirement for clothing is breathable and wear-resistant. It is better to have cycling clothes. It is also important to have underwear with high permeability and perspiration and a windproof and rainproof coat.

no matter how strong and expensive your bike is, you must learn to repair it yourself. The brake shoes and tires of the car wear very quickly, and the bumps on the road damage the axle balls quite seriously. Therefore, it is necessary to prepare a complete and compact repair tool, which mainly includes: a adjustable wrench; Screwdriver size each one; One or two fixed wrenches, depending on the specific situation of the screws on the car, are mainly used for braking screws; A sheet wrench is used to adjust the tightness of the wheel; A steel ring for adjusting the spoke tightness; Glue, patch and file skin for tire repair; A pair of pliers; Pump is obviously necessary. In addition, a screw socket wrench used to tighten the pedal shaft may also be needed; Whether the hexagon wrench is needed depends on the type of faucet screw; In addition, there must be at least two spare inner tubes, a car chain, several brake shoes, screws and nuts, and one long and short brake line; One variable speed line and several engine oils; A number of iron wires; 2 ~ 3 rubber straps for tying luggage (if you tie luggage with rope, it will definitely be loose); Wait a minute.

professional long-distance bicycles have shelves at the front and back, and luggage is also packed in packs to reduce the center of gravity and improve the stability of the bicycle. You can also follow suit and weld a solid front frame or front frame for your car. You can put some weight, such as food and water or things you often need to take in front to reduce the load on the rear tires.

whether riding on a bumpy dirt road or a flat road, remember to check the car once a day, mainly to check whether the screws are loose.

Tibet self-help travel guide

Here is an introduction to self-help travel projects. Including routes, scenic spots, accommodation, transportation, expenses, precautions and emergency measures; Many travel experts I know from the Internet, most of whom are very enthusiastic and enthusiastic, have specially opened such a column, so that more friends can take us around together.

I went to Tibet and wasted a lot of time and money because there was no guidance. I was so sad that I decided to write this article to help my later friends.

This guide only represents my personal opinion.

This guide needs the help of friends who have been to Tibet. Thank you.

I only stayed in Tibet for one month in 1999 and I didn't go to many places.

I advocate backpacking, and it is unnecessary for travelers who are on business or who are received.

I am interested in Tibet: architecture, culture, scenery and food.

My current plan is to go to Xinjiang and Kashmir Plateau. Anyone who is interested in going with me can contact me.

My personal situation: a/s=35/male, I can't drive, and I live a frugal life when traveling. I am from Beijing, and I don't have much money.

My contact information: gototibet1st@sina.com

For those who have never been to Tibet, Tibet is like a dream pair.

Beijing

China citizens don't need to apply for a border card when they go to Tibet

Anyone who goes to Mount Everest, Ali, Pulan (the border between China and Nepal) or Zhangmu Town (the border between China and Nepal) needs a border card, and they also need to apply for a cultural inspection card in advance when they go to Zada (Tulin)

It is best to get the above-mentioned documents in Beijing, and they need to be processed about two weeks in advance

If they wait until Lhasa. If you want to go to the above-mentioned border areas, you must contact the travel agency and organize a group trip.

You can organize a temporary tour in Lhasa. If there are foreigners in the tour group, you must have a tour guide. The tour guide can be replaced by a member through consultation with the travel agency.

unless you have less than 7 days to go to Tibet, flying is not recommended. If you fly, the adaptation period of altitude sickness is very long, and there are many things to pay attention to. Once the adjustment is not good, it is easy to get sick.

Xining, a very "earthy" city, is not as developed as Yanqing and Fangshan.

Accommodation is limited to 6 yuan/room/day, and it is better to live near the railway station.

Xining-Ta 'er Temple: Xiaogong ***1-2 yuan

Ta 'er Temple-Xining: chartered car 5-8 yuan

The food in Xining is not as delicious as that in other cities in the northwest, but it can be swallowed, but it is very large and not expensive

The weather in Xining is similar to that in Beijing, with a little cold in the shade and a little hot in the sun

IP. Xining is very rustic, but Ta 'er Temple is great. Time: one day

Recommended: Bird Island and Qinghai Lake! Due to seasonal reasons, sometimes you don't have to go to Qinghai Lake and Bird Island. For details, you can ask local people or hotel attendants. Xining people are very simple and honest. Time: one day.

I didn't make it

Time: Together with going to Ta 'er Temple, and going to Bird Island, Qinghai Lake and other trains, it will take two and a half to four days in Xining.

The price of the same small handicraft is cheaper than that in Tibet, but some of them are slightly inferior in quality. It seems that you should buy them!

Golmud-a boring town. Leave as soon as there is a car. Don't delay for a minute.

Fare: Xining-Golmud: around 12 yuan/person

Golmud-Lhasa: around 2 yuan/person

Food: similar to Xining, more expensive and dirtier than Xining

Weather: similar to Xining

Mobile phones can still be used

The bus station is very close to the railway station, from 12 noon to 1 o'clock. But there are many people and few tickets, so queue up to buy tickets immediately after getting off the train. There are many private long-distance buses. The car is in poor condition, and it is prone to accidents on the way. A friend of mine took more than 5 hours to arrive in Lhasa because of an accident on the road.

Don't make mistakes in your busy work. Put anti-altitude sickness medicine on the roof. Wet paper towels, kettles and leaf soap are very useful on the road.

It's dirty all the way, both inside and outside the car.

You can tell the driver at any time that it is convenient to get off at Tanggula Pass. The driver will definitely help you in Lhasa-if the journey goes well, it will probably be the next afternoon or evening < As long as you are in good health, take a hot bath, go to bed no matter how early, be sure to be warm, don't catch a cold, take some cold medicine and drink plenty of boiled water. You can get up late the next day to ensure a good rest. Remember that you have reached an altitude of 39 meters, and don't make fun of your body.

Make sure you have a good rest

Make sure you don't catch a cold

Recommendation: Shambhala Hotel: This hotel was built in 1999, and it is in the center of the city, very close to Jokhang Temple. It is three-star. In 1999, it was clean, with good service and extremely comfortable. If you go to Lhasa before 21, you can choose here. TEL(891)6323577 standard room: around 3 yuan/room/day

Recommended: Lhasa Hotel: Some of them are like the Beijing Hotel in Beijing, which is five-star and far from the city center, so it is not convenient to do things the next day

: (Never stayed.

Weather: To tell the truth, it's almost the same as Beijing. It's a little cold, with a big temperature difference between day and night. I wear short sleeves at noon and cotton-padded jacket at night.

The next day: Potala Palace, Norbulingka

When I go to Potala Palace, I can ask local children how to walk behind the mountain, which is much cheaper. Tickets are around 5 yuan.

Be sure to go to the bank and change some dime. Just take photos and beg for a dime. Everyone can change to 5 yuan -1 yuan or so, and then

return the room in a star-rated hotel and stay in a Tibetan hotel, which is clean and cheap. The daily room price is around 3 yuan, and there are public bathrooms and public toilets. The bathrooms may have time constraints. The waiters are usually local Tibetans, and there is laundry service, which is much cheaper than the HOTEL. However, hand washing is usually for three or four people. Four people in a room may come from three or four countries, which is very interesting and comfortable.

Recommended: kirey hotel: near Jokhang Temple. Close to Jokhang Temple, but far from auspicious day

If there are fewer than five or more people traveling with you, and you want to go to places like Mount Everest, Zhangmu or Ali, post posts in hotels and travel agencies, and write down the number of people you need, the place you want to go, the departure time and contact information clearly. Or if you see any posted posts suitable, contact them immediately.

There are many p>IP phones, and you can also use your mobile phone.

In the evening, you can go to a Tibetan restaurant near Jokhang Temple (that is, Bajiao Street, which is also called Barkhor Street by locals) for dinner, and go to Barkhor Street to ask for prices.

food: pure Tibetan yogurt, buttered tea, milk tea and highland barley wine are all delicious. There are many restaurants near Barkhor Street, and some bars

recommend: There is a small Muslim restaurant on the corner near the Post and Telecommunications Hotel. The oil cake mutton soup is delicious, and now I want to eat it.

Recommendation: There is a mutton hotpot restaurant opened by the northeast between the Jokhang Temple and Potala Palace in beijing east road, which tastes quite authentic.

Recommendation: Gangji Restaurant: It faces the Jokhang Temple, and the second terrace can enjoy the warm sunshine and leisurely life in Lhasa.

human tricycles, bicycles and TAXI are the main gifts in Lhasa.

Don't buy them yet, but ask about the price.

In Bajiao Street, the boss will say that it hasn't opened at 8: a.m. or 6: p.m., please help me open a card and reduce the price slightly.

Once the transaction is done, they will knock all his goods with the money you paid. I probably want to make all his goods a little bit rich.

Time:

One day, don't eat full, at most, 7% full, unless you are too healthy, you can try it. Nothing happened. I have seen people who suffer from altitude sickness because of eating one more chicken leg.

In Tibet, English is more useful than Chinese except Tibetan, especially for lamas, who know English far more than Chinese.

don't say anything disrespectful to the gods and people's beliefs when entering any temple. It's a matter of courtesy! I have seen some tourists whose character is so low that they don't even know the minimum manners. If you can't guarantee these things, don't go to Tibet to embarrass the Chinese people! ! !

It's very interesting to find a Bar to drink Beer or highland barley wine at night and chat with foreigners, whether speaking English to the French or speaking German to the Americans.

Qianzang, the birthplace of all Tibet, is rich and has a low altitude.

If you want to go to Qianzang and have no time or interest to take the Sichuan-Tibet highway, you'd better go to Qianzang first, because Qianzang has a low altitude and food.

Shannan (Zedang Town)-except for many Tibetans, it is more like a small town in the mainland.

Transportation: Lhasa-Zedang, you need 2 yuan to charter a car, that is, 5 yuan for everyone. You can stop in Lhasa in the morning and you can reach Lhasa-Zedang by bus. However, there is a time limit and the price is unknown, which is within 2 yuan, but the departure time is very early.

The streets are all rough.

no business except long distance * * *
