Buick Hideo Warm Air Conduit
A car owner reported that when his car was driving on the highway, he learned that the radiator sewer pipe suddenly burst and went to the repair shop to replace the radiator, thermostat and coolant, thinking that the water pipe burst because the radiator did not dissipate heat well, which caused the water temperature to be too high, but in the process of driving back, the water pipe was damaged again. How should this situation be solved?
This car is a Buick Hideo of 20 1 1 year and has traveled 60,000 kilometers. According to the feedback from the owner, the fault code read by the vehicle during maintenance is P0300, which means that the engine control unit detects that several cylinders or one cylinder is not working, and the water temperature is 105 degrees.
The engine cooling system is shown in the following figure. The water pipes of the cooling system are used as pipes for the flow of coolant. Generally, there are more than six water pipes, such as the upper and lower water pipes connected to the radiator, two water pipes connected to the warm air tank, and water pipes connected to the auxiliary water tank. If the water pipe is used for a long time due to high temperature, it will break and be damaged.
According to the situation, we should first consider whether the fault is caused by the high temperature of the cooling system. Because the water tank assembly and thermostat have been replaced, the next step should be to check the water pump, for example, to check whether the impeller of the water pump is stuck. The engine water pump is generally installed in the cylinder block and driven by the crankshaft pulley.
For the inspection of the radiator electronic fan, we can drive the electronic fan through the active test function of the diagnostic instrument, and it is normal if it can be driven.
If there is nothing wrong with the cooling system parts, it is because the water jacket or cylinder pad of the cylinder block is damaged. The method of inspection is to open the storage tank of coolant after the engine is started to see if there are bubbles coming out. If bubbles come out, it means that the cylinder gasket is broken.
The way to check whether the engine water jacket is damaged is to disassemble the spark plug and see if there are water marks on the spark plug. If there is no water mark on the spark plug, remove the cylinder head for inspection.
Because the damage of the cylinder gasket will lead to poor sealing between the cooling system and the combustion chamber, the cooling liquid will expand when heated, and the temperature will rise, which will eventually lead to the rupture of the water pipe due to the pressure of high load.
