What are the legends about clocks?

Legend has it that Changsha people have a saying: "Feilaishi, Zilai, iron centipede behind Yuelu Mountain". There is a big clock on Yuelu Mountain, which is sandwiched on an ancient ginkgo tree beside Yunlu Palace. Legend has it that in ancient times, there was an old fisherman at the foot of Yuelu Mountain. He has a pair of clever daughters, one is Jin Xian and the other is Narcissus. They have the same figure and face. Except the old fisherman, no one can tell which is the elder sister and which is the younger sister. One day, the old fisherman went out fishing early in the morning. By dusk, the two sisters had not seen their father come back. They came to the river to wait, and suddenly they saw a boat coming from the upstream like a fly. Jumped off a few heavy-eyed strong men from the boat, dragged them to the boat and sent them to the emperor's palace. It turned out that the queen was ill and wanted to hear the melodious bell. The emperor called many famous craftsmen from all over the country to cast bells in the palace, but they didn't cast them for months, and the queen's illness became more and more serious. A traveling mage told the emperor that he would send someone to the riverside of Yuelu Mountain to catch two girls with identical figures and put them in a furnace to melt them with iron, thus casting a clock and curing the queen. The emperor listened to his words and captured two sisters. Poor Jin Xian and Narcissus were sent to the foundry to be melted. Strangely, the clock is cast. As soon as the clock struck, there was a melodious and sad voice. Hearing this, the queen really recovered. Besides, when the old fisherman came home, he was eager to see his beloved daughter. I have looked everywhere for Yuelu Mountain, but there is still no trace. The old fisherman is crazy! He ran to the Xiangjiang River and cried at the Baihe River, but he still couldn't see his daughter. He jumped into the river. In an instant, the calm river roared and the river rushed into the palace. The emperor and queen drowned, and the clock was swept into the waves. A few days later, on the side of Yuelu Mountain, a big clock and the body of an old man were washed up on the river. People buried the old fisherman in Yuelu Mountain, and the big clock was placed in front of his grave. I don't know how many years later, a ginkgo tree grew on his grave and lifted the clock. The criss-crossing branches tightly clamped the clock, and no one could take it away from the tree again. Legend has it that in ancient Shanghai, the Wusong River was surging and often flooded. The common people call it "overlord tide". During the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period (907-979), King Qian Miao of wuyue was a wise monarch who advocated "being kind to China and protecting the environment and people". In order to solve the harm of "overlord tide" to the common people, Qian Miao, king of wuyue, dredged and dug a qianxi named after King Wu Yue at the mouth of Wusong River in Daxing Water Conservancy.

Qian Miao, king of wuyue, respected the spirit of "two places in the cloud" of the writers in the Western Jin Dynasty in the land of wuyue, and was usually a good preacher. King Wu Yue learned that Lu Baoan, the ancestral temple in Wusong River, was flooded many times, so he gave the Lotus Sutra copied with gold powder for five years to Lu Ancestral Temple. Because the pronunciation of "Lu" and "Liu" in wuyue dialect is the same, Lu Baoan is homophonic with Liu Baoan. But there are seven treasures of Buddhism such as gold, silver, amber, coral, dragonfly, glass and agate. The seven treasures of Buddhism contain the brightness and wisdom of the pure land of Buddhism, and contain profound connotations, making them the spiritual objects in jewelry. The homonym of buddhist nun happens to be Six Treasures. King Wu Yue felt that its connotation was not perfect enough, so he called the Lotus Sutra "this is the treasure". Wu Fei said: "Seven treasures are good deeds, seven treasures are beneficial to the country, and seven treasures are beneficial to the people. This is the Buddhism of Lu Bao, the compassion of the Bodhisattva, the Hong En of the king and the blessing of the people of wuyue. " Therefore, "Lu Baoan" was renamed "Qibao Temple".

After the king and his beloved princess left, Lu's descendants quickly enshrined the Lotus Sutra in gold. Just as he was about to kowtow, a monk came and said, "Seven treasures are good. Jin Ping Mei Jing is a blessing. You must recite it nine times a day, and there will be auspicious clouds after 108 days. " After that, the monk made a bow to the Buddha in the Jin Ping Mei Jing and left. The descendants of Lu dare not neglect, but respect the teachings of the wandering monks and worship the Buddha and recite the scriptures every day, which has reached 108 days unconsciously. At the dawn of this day, the temple owner was awakened by a loud and melodious bell. His eyes were just about to open when a bunch of colorful light shone on his face, vaguely seeing the Buddha descending from the sky and spreading the Dharma in the east of Shenshu Village. At this point, the temple owner in this scene seems to be in a dream. When the temple master stood up from the ground, it was already sunrise. When the family met, they asked the temple owner why he bowed down. The owner of the temple said, "The traveling monk appeared. I just dreamed that the Buddha came and saw him fly to a place with trees in the east. " The whole village was boiling. At noon that day, under the leadership of the temple owner, a group of pious people looking for the village to make the sacred tree set out from west to east. If it wasn't thirty miles away, I saw two towering catalpa trees on the shore of Puhuitang, which attracted the explorer's attention. Strangely, at this time, Zhang Zezheng, the head of this village, led the smallest family of dozens of people to meet the distinguished guests from west to east at the entrance of the village. The two teams didn't know until they had an adventure. Zhang Ze also had a morning dream of Buddhism. Since then, Qibao Temple has built a temple on the homestead of Zhang Ze next to Puhui Hall to spread Buddhism.

Seven days and seven nights after the reconstruction and opening of Qibao Temple on the bank of Puhuitang, heavy rains and hurricanes continued, and the river surged. On the seventh day in the middle of the night, there was a sudden flash of golden lightning in the sky, accompanied by thunder and explosion. With a loud noise, something fell from the sky and landed in the courtyard of Qibaojue Temple. At the same time, something was floating in the fragrant flowers next to Qibaojiao Temple, reaching the temple gate, and the bell was ringing.

The next morning, after the rain cleared, people in the town rushed out of their homes and rushed to Tangnan to watch the Iron Buddha fall from the sky. A giant bronze Brahma Bell weighing nearly ten thousand Jin floats on the river in front of Jiaosi Mountain.

The abbot of Qibaojiao Temple immediately ordered everyone to carry the bronze bell sent by the cloud into the temple. Fang Chang was about to hang Brahma bell on the bell tower for an audition after he settled on the Iron Buddha. When he came, he said, "Please don't use it for the time being, and ring the bell after three days and three nights." He said something to Zhong Niannian and left after a while. All the people present were talking and didn't know what to do.

After the monk left, a young monk was curious and picked up the wooden fish and slammed it at the clock. The giant bell immediately gave off an extraordinary cymbal sound, which was solemn, deep and pleasant, and the lingering sound was awe-inspiring. The monks were all surprised when they saw the monks traveling abroad coming from outside. He stumbled and sighed. "This clock is made of elite hardware such as gold, silver, copper, iron and tin. It combines the five elements of heaven and earth, avoids evil spirits and nine whores, and has five long tones. It could have been famous for thousands of miles in Wan Li. If you ring the bell again in three days, everywhere I go, I can smell the bell and shine on all beings. Now, I have only walked 20 miles. From now on, the bell will only ring within 20 miles of Fiona Fang. What a pity, Baozhong! " Say you want to leave. Fang Chang quickly blamed himself and asked why. The monk said, "This Brahma clock is made of fine metal and moistened by holy water. It will take three days and three nights to reach the balance of the five elements. It will be a magnificent music with five sounds, shining on Wan Li and the Brahma realm of all beings. It is a pity that it will take a thousand years to make this precious clock appear again, and there will be a prosperous time. " Say it and leave quietly.

In the first year of Dazhong Xiangfu (A.D. 1008), the news that Buddha and Zhong came from Qibao Temple reached the emperor. Song Zhenzong was overjoyed, because the first year of Dazhong Xiangfu was Tianqing Festival, and it is said that there was a sealed book coming to the world this year. The emperor issued a letter granting the title of "Seven Treasures Temple". Since then, "Qibao Temple" has been officially renamed as "Qibao Temple" and has become an authentic Buddhist Zen forest. Since then, incense has continued, temples have flourished, and the local area has become increasingly prosperous due to temples, hence the name "Qibao Town". Here, "the festival of communication and interests is inevitable, newspapers will go in the New Year, public and private meetings will get together, and bells and drums will ring."

In the same year, Qibao had the legend of Golden Rooster, Yufu and Jade Chopsticks. Since then, Qibao Ancient Town has had seven treasures of villages and towns that are worthy of the name and passed down from generation to generation-Feilai Buddha, Yuelai Bell, Jinpingmei, Shenshu, Golden Rooster, Yufu and Jade Chopsticks.

The legend of the seven treasures has been circulated for thousands of years. Although it is legendary and magical, we can still get many valuable historical materials from its content. For example, the legend of flying Buddha and bell, even if the authenticity of this matter is debatable, can also reflect the historical position of Qibaojue Temple at that time, with the haunting Sanskrit sound and clear bells, known as the "first temple in the east of the county" and the quiet and mysterious Buddhist Dojo atmosphere of a generation of famous temples. The historical account of these seemingly meaningless rumors is a rare document to study the history of Qibao from the perspective of mythology. Because legend is also a kind of history.

History and legend shine together. Now, when the legendary prophecy finally meets the Millennium, should we expect the wandering monks to show their seven treasures again and make them the most humanistic and nostalgic town in Shanghai? Looking back at the Qibaojiao Temple in the late Han and Tang Dynasties, we are now revisiting the old calendar of Puxitang. Jin Ping Mei Jing and Ming Gu Zhong are still there, and the flying Buddha and ancient ginkgo are shining again. Jinji, Yufu and Jade Chopsticks are still selflessly guarding the legendary Qibao Township.

1008, the first year of Dazhong Xiangfu, created the humanistic story of Qibao legend, which made Qibao popular for 800 years. It's 2008, the Millennium. What can be done to create a 800-year-old fiery landscape? Looking for Mo Ling in the Millennium Legend of Song Dynasty before Qibao and Ming Zhong, so that historical myths can be legendary again. ...

The Legend of Nuozhong Everyone who has been to Beijing knows that there is a "Zhong Wang" in Beijing, which is the Dazhong Temple clock only four or five miles away from Xizhimen. There are not only big clocks here, but also the township name "Dazhongsi Township, Haidian District, Beijing", which is a close neighbor of the eighth largest capital. The name of Dazhong Temple is Juesheng Temple. Juesheng Temple has a bell tower and a spiral staircase, which is as high as a bell nose upstairs. What a big bell tower and clock. Dazhong Temple, the clock is not big enough to be called Zhong Wang? How much does this clock weigh? No more, no less, 43 metric tons and a half-87 thousand Jin, not less! Juesheng Temple has been forgotten because of this big clock, and even some old Beijingers can't speak these three words, so it is called Dazhong Temple. Is the big clock of Dazhong Temple cast here? That's not true. It was moved from other places. There is a story circulating in everyone's mouth about moving such a heavy clock: this happened again when Emperor Yongle of the Ming Dynasty: Judy, the prince of Yan, was always afraid that someone would overthrow his "throne" after she became emperor. In order to "destroy" the civil resistance, he sent his strategist Yao to collect the swords and weapons of the people and cast a big clock weighing 87 thousand Jin, engraved with all this. I don't know why, this big clock will sink to the bottom of the long river in front of Manjuji outside Xizhimen (this place is more than a mile west of Beijing Xijiao Zoo, and the long river is the river behind the zoo and Beijing Exhibition Hall). After the Ming dynasty and before the Qing dynasty, no one thought of fishing for it for more than 100 years, and no one even knew that there was such a big clock. On this day, no one can tell which day it is. Suddenly, an old fisherman found such a big clock buried at the bottom of the river. At this time, the legend opened. Of course, in a short time, it will spread to the ears of the Qing emperor and become a strange thing. When the emperor of the Qing Dynasty knew about this, he immediately issued an imperial edict to the officials of the Ministry of Industry who were in charge of the project at that time, telling them to take the clock out of the river, move it to Juesheng Temple and build a big bell tower to hang it. According to the emperor's orders, officials of the Ministry of Industry sent a supervisor and several foremen to take craftsmen to salvage, move and hang clocks. The clock has been fished out from the bottom of the river, so it is not too difficult to hang it. I can't think of a good way to move to Juesheng Temple five or six miles away. The clock fished out in summer is almost an autumn, and I still can't think of the idea of moving it. Ministry officials urged supervisors, supervisors urged workers, supervisors urged foremen, foremen and craftsmen to discuss left and right, but they couldn't come up with a good solution. It's really annoying It's September, and it's raining outside. Foremen and craftsmen are even more worried. Everyone chipped in and drank in the shack (work shed). There is only one blue stone in the shack, which is used as a table. At one end of the stone sat a foreman, and craftsmen sat around the stone table, leaking water from the roof. It's too big to move the clock, and no one cares if it leaks. The foreman sitting at the end of the stone table picked up a small glass of wine and let everyone drink it for a long time. The foreman became more and more annoyed and said to a craftsman at the other end of the stone table, "Lao Li, make me a small glass." Just when I picked up a small small wine cup, I slipped because my hands were stained with water. Everyone said, "What a pity! Drank a glass of wine. " Next to a craftsman who usually doesn't like to talk, everyone called him "dumb" and said, "The cup is too slippery, just push it over." Everyone ignored the "dumb" and still drank wine. Just then, suddenly a craftsman jumped up, clapped his hands and said, "Yes! I do. The word' dumb' makes sense! " When people asked him what he was shouting, the craftsman said, "isn't the cup a clock?" Isn't it slippery? " If we beat Manjuji to Juesheng Temple, open a shallow river, put a foot or two of his water in it, freeze it and push the clock over the ice! "Everyone said that makes sense, and everyone checked for half a day. The next day, they reported it to the foreman. The foreman reported to the Ministry of Industry officials layer by layer, and the Ministry of Industry officials told them to level the land, dig ditches, drain, freeze and slide the clock quickly. The clock, weighing 87,000 Jin, just hit the ice and slipped to Juesheng Temple. Now the clock is still hanging in the bell tower. Later, someone remembered the story of moving the clock and said, "Maybe the person who came up with the idea of moving the clock was Master Lu. "The legend of Beijing Bell" Eight Ten Nine Doors "is a folk story about Beijing's" City Bell ". "Nine Gates" refers to Zhengyangmen, the highest city gate in old Beijing, and Chongwenmen and Xuanwumen around it, as well as Chaoyangmen, Dongzhimen, Andingmen, Deshengmen, Xizhimen and Fuchengmen. According to the old rule, nine doors should be hung with a "dot" to tell the time. When the bells of Ding Geng (the first watch) and Liang Geng (the fifth watch) of the Bell and Drum Tower in the city center are heard, all the city gates will be closed or opened (only Xizhimen will not be closed after Ding Geng, which will be the channel to transport Yuquan Mountain spring water for the royal family). But in the end, it became "nine doors and one clock at eight o'clock", and eight doors were hung, but Chongwenmen was hung with a "city clock". What happened?

According to legend, the dragon gave birth to nine sons, each with his own strengths, but none of them became dragons. One of the sons of the dragon is not old and good at roaring, but at first it roared in the southeast of Beijing regardless of the occasion and place. Emperor Yongle of the Ming Dynasty sent "strategist" Yao to train "not to be old". Yao's dharma name "Daoyan" is a "great monk" who will enter the phase. He knows the origin and specialty of "not old" and thinks it is most appropriate to cast it on a clock. Taking the clock as the book and the clock as the carrier, Yao Zeng was ordered by Emperor Yongle to cast a Yongle clock covered with Buddhist scriptures. Because the bell button is full of Buddhist scriptures, there is no dragon-shaped bell button. This time, the "not old" was noisy in the southeast of Beijing, so the point of Chongwenmen in the southeast of Beijing was removed and replaced with this "city clock" with the knob of the "not old" clock.

Strangely, since Chongwenmen was replaced by Bulongling, Bulong stopped barking. It serves the people of Beijing wholeheartedly, and its voice is pleasant and loud, far exceeding the voice of management. The bell of "Bulongling" is also very considerate. The person who hears the bell is like someone talking in his ear, and so is the person to whom the bell "speaks". Ring the bell at the "fixed watch", and the bell people hear is "Close the door! Close the door! " The bell at dawn is "Open the door! Open the door! " Chongwenmen used to be the gateway for businessmen to pay taxes. Hearing this, the businessman said, "Pay taxes! Pay taxes! " People talk about it, and many people come to Chongwenmen to listen to the bell of "Bulong Bell". The loving couple came, and the bell they heard was "Sweet! Sweet! " The scholar came and heard "Win the list! On the list! " What the officials heard was "integrity! Clean! " Corrupt officials who have a guilty conscience are "exposed!" Expose! Hard-working people are "respectable!" Respectable! Lazy people hear the bell "Work! Work! "How can a clock knock out so many clocks?

Old people often say: "Make a wish when you ring the bell, and the wish at this time is the most effective!" " Confucius also said: "When the bell rings, it signals, and when the signal is horizontal, it makes weapons horizontally. The gentleman listens to the clock and thinks it is martial. " The legend of the magic road is a legend, and it is often in the legend.

From the legend of "nine doors and eight points" to the complex of loving life, only under many favorable conditions can a culture full of humanistic care be formed. Bell played an important role in this legend. There is a tradition of "measuring with the same method" in the history of our country. Clock is not only a musical instrument, but also a part of measuring and weighing instruments. Therefore, the clock has the function of "convergence". "The bells are ringing" also extends to beautiful love, and the idiom "love at first sight" appears.
