The north-south dividing line, the Qinling Mountains and the Huaihe River line

The Qinling Mountains-Huaihe River Line (Qinling-Huaihe Line, Qinling-Huaihe Line, referred to as the Qinhuai Line) is the geographical dividing line between the northern and southern regions of China. There are obvious differences in natural conditions, geographical features, agricultural production or people's living customs between the north and south of this line.

Part of the geographical significance: dividing line: 1. Temperature: 0℃ isotherm in January. 2. Daily average temperature ≥10℃ and accumulated temperature 4500℃ isoline. 3. Climate zone: the dividing line between warm temperate zone and subtropical zone. 4. Precipitation: The annual precipitation is 800mm and equal to the precipitation line. 5. Dry and wet areas: the boundary between humid areas and semi-humid areas. 6. Climate: The dividing line between subtropical monsoon climate and temperate monsoon climate. 7. Agriculture: The dividing line between dryland agriculture and paddy field agriculture. 8. Crops: The dividing line between rice production and wheat production. 9. Plants: The dividing line between subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest and temperate deciduous broad-leaved forest.

10. Rivers: The rivers north of this line have small flows, large water level changes, ice periods, and high sand content. Rivers south of this line have large flows, small water level changes, no freezing periods, and small sediment content. 11. The watershed between the Yangtze River and the Yellow River.

12. Terrain: The terrain to the north of this line is complete, dominated by large plateaus and plains. To the south of this line the terrain is broken and dominated by basins and hills. 13. Region: The dividing line between the southern/central China region and the northern/northern China region. 14. The dividing line between two to three crops a year and three crops every two years or one crop a year.
