What are the relevant information about Beidahuang?

Introduction:

Beidahuang is the name of a large area in northern Heilongjiang Province, China. Geographically, Beidahuang belongs to the northernmost region of China. The climate is very cold especially in winter, and the farming period is quite short. It has always been one of the sparsely populated areas in China. It is called the Great Northern Wilderness because of its desolation. Now it is mainly the general name for the Nenjiang River, Heilongjiang Valley and Sanjiang Plain areas in Heilongjiang Province.

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, many people immigrated to Beidahuang to establish farms and open up wasteland. The first people who came to open up wasteland were retired soldiers, and later it was the educated youth who went to the mountains and countryside.

Today's Beidahuang is one of the most important agricultural reclamation areas in China, so it is also known as "Beidacang". Heilongjiang Beidahuang Agriculture Co., Ltd. is a state-owned agricultural enterprise group located in the Beidahuang region of Heilongjiang Province. It has 9 branches, 103 farms and pastures, 700,000 employees, and an annual grain output of 120 billion kilograms.

Origin of the name:

"Beidahuang" used to refer to the vast barren area in the northern Heilongjiang Province of China in the Sanjiang Plain, the Heilongjiang river plain and the Nenjiang River Basin.

This place has not been desolate and uncultivated since ancient times. The Jurchens who defeated the Liao and Northern Song Dynasties lived and prospered here. During the Qing Dynasty, a large number of Manchus entered the customs, and Russian forces took advantage of the opportunity to enter. In addition, in order to consolidate the dragon lineage of their ancestors, the Qing Dynasty strictly prohibited Han people from entering the Northeast region, making it rare for people to visit the border thousands of miles away. Therefore, the land has been barren for a long time, so of course it is called Beidahuang.

It was not until China carried out large-scale reclamation and farm operations in the 1950s that Beidahuang became what it is today.
