The Historical Evolution of Nanchang Station
During the Japanese invasion of China, after occupying Nanchang first, the Japanese army first interrupted the important railway transportation in China, stopping the vehicles passing through Nanjing, the capital at that time, and Shanghai, Hangzhou, Tianjin and Fengtian (Shenyang) in the north, which led to man-made disasters such as food shortage in China.
Nanchang stands at Niuhang Station in Changbei. Nanchang Railway Station is responsible for the trains in the direction of Zhejiang and Jiangxi, and Niuhang Station is only responsible for the arrival and departure of Nanxun Railway. This situation continued until the establishment of People's Republic of China (PRC), and Nanchang needed a river-crossing bridge, so 1963 June Nanxun Railway and zhejiang-jiangxi railway Ganjiang Bridge were completed, and then Nanchang Railway Station became the * * * of Nanxun Railway and zhejiang-jiangxi railway Nanchang Branch Line.
The section from Niuxing to Nanchang Cement Plant of Niuxun Railway became an abandoned railway, and most of it was demolished. Now Honggutan and Poly Golf Garden occupy most of the subgrade of this railway.
This situation did not change until the 1990s. With the construction of Beijing-Kowloon Railway, Nanchang Railway Station became a bottleneck, so in the mid-1990s, the old station 1996 was demolished. Nanchang Railway Station has a new look. However, it was not until 2007 that the transformation of the west square of the station was completed, and the station landmark World Ball was also built in front of the station.
At present, the tunnel project under Luoyang Road near Nanchang Railway Station will greatly change the traffic conditions next to Nanchang Railway Station, and will be completed on June 0, 20 10+ 10.
