Setting of highway u-turn

The road turning position of motor vehicles is specified as follows:

1. Do not turn around when turning left is prohibited. Some intersections have signs prohibiting left turn. If you see this sign, you can't turn back.

2. The auxiliary road can't turn around. The auxiliary road is usually a right-turn lane, even if there is no arrow on the ground indicating that you want to turn around here, it is absolutely impossible;

You can't turn around at the second left turn. One accidentally parked his car on the second left turn line, and he can't turn around in this case. Without any signs and u-turn lines, he can only make a u-turn in the innermost left-turn lane.

The service station turns around, and the toll station does not turn around. The setting of expressway U-turn stations must take into account the size of future U-turn vehicles, which can only exceed the requirements and cannot be too small.

At present, only the Code for Design of Urban Road Intersections (CJJ 152) stipulates the functional design of intersection lanes. The general U-turn lane is combined with the left-turn lane, and the specific design standard is implemented according to the technical index of the left-turn lane. At the same time, for the supporting signs and markings, the Road Traffic Signs and Marks (GB5768) only stipulates the signs and markings themselves, but does not stipulate the setting requirements. The comparison principle of setting U-turn signs in the Code for Setting Traffic Signs and Marking Lines on Urban Roads (GB5 1308) is as follows:

1. Due to the need of traffic organization or management, a U-turn sign should be set before the road section or intersection with U-turn lane or U-turn point.

2. The U-turn permission sign shall be set at an appropriate position in front of the U-turn permission section or at the intersection of the U-turn permission intersection.

3. The U-turn sign should face the oncoming direction and be set in coordination with the ground sign. The setting of signs shall not interfere with the normal operation of vehicles in other lanes.

4. When the allowed U-turn sign has special provisions such as time and vehicle type, or when predicting the U-turn distance ahead, auxiliary signs shall be used for explanation.

Legal basis:

Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China

Article 90 A motor vehicle driver who violates the provisions of laws and regulations on road traffic safety shall be given a warning or fined from 20 yuan to 200 yuan. If there are other provisions in this law, it shall be punished in accordance with its provisions.
