Introduction to the ruins of the capital of Weiguo
The ruins of the capital of the Kingdom of Wei are located in Gaocheng Village, Wuxing Township, Puyang City, Henan Province. After expert research and demonstration, it was identified as the mysterious capital of the Kingdom of Wei during the Spring and Autumn Period. Until the day before yesterday, the Provincial Cultural Relics Administration announced that the Gaocheng ruins discovered by archaeologists in Puyang were the capital of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty that had been hidden underground for thousands of years. In April 2005, in order to cooperate with the national ancient civilization exploration project, the Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archeology and the Puyang Municipal Cultural Relics Preservation Office conducted a survey on the south of Gaocheng Village, Wuxing Township, southeast of Puyang County. Drilling and test excavations were conducted on the four walls of the Gaocheng site, and it was initially confirmed that this was actually an ancient city site with an area of approximately 9.16 million square meters.
