The origin of another name for Lijin Town
Lijin City was called Phoenix in ancient times. There are many folk sayings about the origin of the name of Phoenix. According to relevant records, Lijin Ancient City is adjacent to Gaojia Village in the north, Guanzhuang Village in the south, Houwang Village in the west and the surging Yellow River in the east. With Dagushou as the center, the city radiates four streets, which are named Jinxian Street, Taiping Street, Mu Yi Street and Yong 'an Street respectively. The brick wall around the city is steep, and there are four gates on the wall, which are east, west, north and south, namely Dongguan Lanmen, West Chaojingmen, South Yingxunmen and North Town Haimen. Its east, south and west gates each have an official road extending outward, while the official road of the west gate is divided into three parts, extending to the distance.
The overall outline of Lijin ancient city is like a phoenix, with its head facing east, its tail facing west, and three lanes leaving the city gate in the west, just like three long feathers on the tail of the phoenix. Therefore, Old Lijin City is also called Phoenix City. An ancient sage once said: Lijin City is the head of the Tianhe River, with its feet on the way to Beijing, high officials on its wings and princes on its tail, occupying all the geomantic omen. The "Li Shenxian Cave" left by the ancients in China added the mystery of Lijin City.
