Wolu Mountain is steep and beautiful, with scenic spots everywhere.

The ancient stone temple - Xiaosheng Temple

Xiaosheng Temple is located at the foot of Wolu Mountain. Because of its long history, it is called an old ancient temple by the locals. It is currently the oldest temple in Liaoning Province. There is the only well-preserved ancient stone temple in the temple.

Xiaosheng Temple was originally an ancient thatched cottage temple with three rooms, built in the Tang Dynasty. In 1981, the Liaoning Provincial Department of Cultural Relics allocated funds for comprehensive repairs. Three new east corridor rooms were built, an antique mountain gate was built, and the flower wall was 60.4 meters long. Later, three gallery rooms were built on the west side. This huge temple is entirely made of stone. The three main halls are 9.15 meters long, 5 meters wide and 5.4 meters high. In addition to the doors and windows, the walls, corridor columns, beams, roofs, ridges, kissing beasts, etc. are all carved from stone and made of falcons. The east and west gables of the stone temple are made of 61 strips of stone, the back wall of the temple is made of 65 strips of stone, and the front wall of the temple is made of 30 strips of stone. What is amazing is that the stone temple's ridge purlins can predict weather conditions. There are signs of "light rain, heavy rain, heavy rain, and no rain" before the rain. The reason for this strange phenomenon is still unclear. There are five statues in the stone temple, all of which are carved from stone.

Forest of Steles

On the right side of the ancient stone temple, there is a forest of steles. There are more than 50 temple monuments and tombstones from the Ming and Qing Dynasties to the Republic of China. It is a witness to the history of Xiuyan.

Songshuyang

Songshuyang is the main peak of Wolu Mountain, with an altitude of 519 meters, standing alone among the mountains. Looking at the top of the peak from afar, the ancient pine trees on the stone cliffs form a self-contained body, shaped like goats, so they are called pine trees and sheep. The local pronunciation is homophonic for pine trees, and the place name comes from this.

Watching the Waterfall from the Stone Eaves

Nearly 100 meters from the summit, a huge boulder protrudes from the cliff, shaped like an eave. Under the eaves is a flat boulder of about 400 square meters, which can accommodate One hundred and ten people. In summer, the stream flows to the stone eaves, forming a waterfall more than 20 meters wide, cascading down to the ground. Over the years, wavy patterns have been carved out on the surface of the boulders, arranged in an orderly manner, which is very strange.

Lying on the Rock and Listening to the Pine

There is a cliff far away from the stone eaves where you can watch the waterfall. There is a huge stone standing on the cliff, which is more than ten feet high and flat on the top, where people can lie down. There are lush green pines all around, in various poses and shapes. At dusk, lying on the stone, with the gentle breeze and waves of pine waves, it is very interesting.
