Is Beijing Gongwangfu fun? Is it worth going?
Gongwangfu is located in the northwest of the inner city of Beijing, facing the sea in the east and Houhai in the north. As the largest palace in Qing Dynasty, it was once the residence of Xiao Shenyang and Yong Yu. In A.D. 185 1 year, Prince Gong was bent on becoming the owner of this house, hence the name Gong.
The first place in Gongwangfu is Hou Gai Lou in the last row of the mansion. The so-called "unique" means that its length is the longest in the back cover building of Wang Fu Building Regulations in Qing Dynasty. This building is really long. The whole building is 160 meters long. It is said that such a building with such a length and number of rooms is just an example in Wang Fu in the Qing Dynasty.
There is a window above and below each room on the back cornice wall, and the bottom is rectangular. The windows on the second floor have different shapes, but none of them are the same, such as round, square, pomegranate, book-rolling, chime, fish and bat. It means "more than happiness" and is called "assorted window". It is said that this building is a warehouse in Little Shenyang, and it is called a "treasure house". In those days, there were countless treasures of gold and silver, pearls and jade articles, and silks and satins.
The second place of Gongwangfu is the west gate at the entrance of the garden. The model adopts western style and stretches smoothly, which is really a masterpiece of architecture. It imitates the Dafa round door system of Yuanmingyuan. Because Yuanmingyuan was burned down by the British and French allied forces in 1860, this gate is the best preserved white marble arch. Because the rotating patterns and flower windows on both sides have the flavor of western architecture, it is called the west gate.
