Suzhou is an important historical and cultural city in China. Do you know some legends and stories about Suzhou? The following is a legendary story about Suzhou that I share with you. Welcome to reading.

Legendary story about Suzhou: the story of Suzhou Golden Gate

When did Suzhou Golden Gate open? I don't have reliable historical data at hand. If I look it up online, it's also a muddled account. I only see boldness, not preciseness. The rigorous tradition of Pu Xue has long been completely lost, and it has evolved into an irregular carnival on the Internet, flaunting academics and culture everywhere. Look carefully, there are wild fox Zen games everywhere, and there is no culture or scholarship at all. Of course, I am not complaining here. More than 2000 years ago, Qu Yuan issued the biggest complaint. What we want is to bury our heads in work.

The development of Suzhou Jinmen has experienced many twists and turns. There is a process of opening and closing two doors and then moving. The earliest port of Jinmen was probably in the early 1920s. It is said that five gentry in Suzhou, including Zhang Yi and Li Genyuan, opened the Golden Gate with the support of the county government. This accident highlights the strength of Suzhou gentry, who can plan the construction of Suzhou first. This is indeed the fact that Suzhou gentry dominate Suzhou. The same situation, such as Nantong and Wuxi, is a good example that the gentry's power is greater than the administrative power.

The name of the Golden Gate is probably related to the ancient Jinchang Pavilion outside Nagato. This ancient post station is closely related to land and water transportation and commercial development outside Nagato. Therefore, the Shilu area outside Nagato is generally called Jinchang, and now the administrative divisions also use the name of Jinchang District. The name of Kinmen is related to the ancient Jinchang Pavilion. The cover is not only near Jinchang Gate, but also near Jinchang Gate, so it is a bit logical to call it Jinchang Gate.

One evidence of the opening of Golden Gate in the early 1920s is Cheng's recent Suzhou Ci, in which a poem about Golden Gate was published in 12 Red Rose 1924. Its poem says:

The newly built city gate is also very strong, and it doesn't take much effort to name it.

Gold is a miracle of military strategists, and superstition is unavoidable.

Cheng's words are the latest words, and the first sentence is the newly opened city gate. "Red Rose" is a bimonthly publication, and the publication time of issue 12 is 10+08 of that year. On the whole, Kinmen opened a little earlier or a year or two later, probably that year. This poem also has a note:? There are six doors in Suzhou, namely "Chang", "Pan" and "Lou". Recently, two doors were opened, one is Pingmen and the other is Jinmen. The building will be finished, and the battle between Jiangsu and Zhejiang will be realized. The old gentleman who talks like a book said at this point: the name Jin is not a good sign. Ouyang Ziqiu gave a cloud: Qiu Fu is like a soldier, and he is in the golden curtain. The newly opened gate today is called gold, which is suitable for autumn. Is it strange to be besieged on all sides? Smell this, salty sigh. ?

This poem records the opening time of the Golden Gate in detail: The building will be built, but the war between Jiangsu and Zhejiang will be realized. . The so-called Jiangsu-Zhejiang War, also known as Qilu War, is a war between the direct warlord Qi and the Anhui warlord for Shanghai, which is called Jiangsu War or Qilu War. The beacon of war began in September, and in more than 40 days, 10 and 15 ended in the surrender of the Lu army. Then, the opening and formal completion time of Jinmen is about September 1924. Superstition is also mentioned in Cheng's poems and notes. It was because of superstition that the Golden Gate was opened and closed twice, and finally moved into a Roman Miyagi-style gate.

As soon as the Golden Gate opened, Suzhou immediately faced the Qilu War. Although Suzhou is not a frontal battlefield, it is also harassed by troops crossing the road and defeated soldiers. Therefore, the old gentleman who talks like a book said: this door is named after gold, and the so-called golden horse is a disaster. He also quoted Ouyang Xiu's Ode to Autumn Sound. ? The newly opened gate today is called gold, which is suitable for autumn. When the Fourth Army rose, Zu was very surprised. Suzhou people immediately blocked Jinmen and dared not use it.

Regarding the opening and closing of the Golden Gate, Huang Zhuantao said this in Suzhou Two Wonders. Jinmen, Suzhou, because the war was closed, sandbags blocked it, and gold and silver killed Xiao, so it opened the door twice and called for war disaster twice. ? This article was published in the first issue of Pacific Pictorial (1926) and in June (10), so the Golden Gate was switched on and off twice from September 24th to June 26th. 1926 The so-called reopening of Kinmen was due to the Northern Expedition.

As for why the new Golden Gate with the style of Rome Miyagi moved near 1929, it is also related to geomantic superstition. According to Tao's Suzhou Erqi, Shen, director of Jiangyin Taxation Office in Han Dynasty, was famous for his good luck. After the opening of Jinmen Port, Suzhou was frequently affected by wars. Although there were wars, the traffic was inconvenient. How to solve it? Zhang invited Shen Shi to see it. ? Shen said that this door is too straight, but slightly west, and Shunping can be expected in 160 years. ?

Many coincidences often dominate people's consciousness, and the Golden Gate in Suzhou has become like this.

The Legend of Suzhou: The Legend of Qiao Feng

A temple can only have one monk in charge. Hanshan and two monks are in a temple. Who will be the host? The two monks are very polite, and pushing and shoving is of no help. It doesn't matter when there are only two monks in this temple. Problems will arise when a group of young monks come in one after another. The young monk asked:? Old monk, which scripture are you going to read today? Hanshan said:? You should ask Master Pickup first. ? The young monk asked Pickup, and Pickup said, You'd better ask Master Hanshan. ? They respect each other, but they suffer from the young monk, how to entertain pilgrims, how much sesame oil to buy, who to send to collect firewood, and so on. The young monk is at a loss, and if he has any opinions, it is hard to be vague. The young monk's words reached Hanshan's ears and picked them up. They discussed them again and pushed them around, but there was still no result.

Then an old peasant woman came up and said, Don't be modest, Second Master. Let me give you an idea. It's only fair that you compare skills and be a great monk with superb skills. ? Picking it up in the cold mountain is an idea. However, compared with what, the peasant woman pointed to a river in front of the temple and said that there was no bridge on this river, so it was inconvenient and dangerous for villagers to cross the river. Please use your magic to change this bridge, and the skilled one will come out. Monks don't gossip, and they are not afraid of hiding spells when picking them up in cold mountains. Sure enough, they cast spells first, took off their robes and threw them into the river, turning them into bridge decks. Unfortunately, there is no bridge support. After a while, when the wind blows, it will collapse. Hanshan hurriedly inserted the mord in his hand into the river and carried the magic weapon on his back. The mord suddenly turned into a tree. When the tree crossed the river, a bridge stood firmly on the river. The old peasant woman said with a smile that Hanshan is more capable. ? As she spoke, she threw her handkerchief at her feet and it turned into a lotus flower. She stepped on the lotus and rose into the air. Hanshan picked it up and looked at it. It turns out that the old peasant woman was changed by Guanyin. Hanshan had to be a monk in charge. Is that temple also called? Hanshan Temple? Yes Hanshan's mord was cut from a maple tree, so the bridge is naturally called? Qiao Feng? Yes

Legend about Suzhou: Humble Administrator's Garden

In the fourth year of Ming Dynasty (1509), the imperial envoy Wang retired to Suzhou and built a humble administrator's garden on the site of the ancient temple in Yuan Dynasty. Wang's friends, calligraphers and painters also participated in gardening, and many scenic spots were designed by Wang. The construction of Humble Administrator's Garden took 20 years and was completed on 1530. The owner of the back garden is the black sheep king. He is fond of gambling and has been caught in the gambling trap. As a result, I gambled all night and lost everything. I gave the Humble Administrator's Garden to the Xu family. The Wangs, who used to be very rich, later collapsed and became trumpeters of others.

The Xu family is a famous family in Suzhou. With the decline of the Xu family, the Humble Administrator's Garden was gradually abandoned. In a blink of an eye, the Qing soldiers who entered the Soviet Union took a fancy to the Humble Administrator's Garden and forcibly moved in. At that time, the owner of the garden was the fifth generation descendant of the Xu family. In desperation, he had to sell the Humble Administrator's Garden to Chen Zhilin, the prime minister of Haining, for two thousand dollars.

Chen Zhilin was originally a courtier of the Ming Dynasty. After surrendering to the Qing Dynasty, he got an official position. As the owner of the garden, Chen Zhilin has never been to the Humble Administrator's Garden, and has never seen a flower and a tree in it. The whole family was sent to Liaoning for taking bribes. Chen Zhilin finally died in the garrison. Chen Zhilin's wife Xu Can is a famous talented woman. Chen Qinian's name is Xu Can? There has been only one boudoir since the Southern Song Dynasty? . Xu Can, who once lived in the garden, later wrote two books about the humble administrator's garden, Poems of the Humble Administrator's Garden and Poems of the Humble Administrator's Garden.

1662, Humble Administrator's Garden was confiscated and not used as official property. In the third year of Kangxi (1664), it was changed to Junlu Pavilion. Later, the Humble Administrator's Garden was returned to Chen Zhilin's son, and Chen Jia sold it to Wu Sangui's husband Wang Yongning. In the 12th year of Kangxi (1673), Wu Sangui was defeated, Wang Yongning died of fear, and the garden was lost and abandoned.

Humble Administrator's Garden is also related to the birth of A Dream of Red Mansions. According to legend, at the end of Kangxi, Cao Yin bought a part of this garden, and Cao Xueqin was born in this garden. As a teenager, I often played in the garden, so many scenery descriptions in the Grand View Garden are based on the Humble Administrator's Garden.

The changes in Humble Administrator's Garden are very representative. In the early years of Qianlong, Humble Administrator's Garden was divided into a complex garden in the middle and a book garden in the west. Together with the pastoral residence in the east, it turned out to be a humble administrator's garden, which is divided into three gardens, each with its own pattern. The restoration of the garden means to repair the old and welcome the new, and the old scenery has been restored. Shen Deqian wrote The Story of Returning to the Garden. Yuan Mei, Zhao Yi, Qian Daxin, Fan Laizong and Pan Yijun are all guests here.

In the tenth year of Xianfeng (1860), Li Xiucheng, a loyal monarch of Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, captured Suzhou and made Suzhou the capital of Sufu Province. Humble Administrator's Garden became a part of the Palace of Loyalty and Filial Piety. See the hill in the garden and become the office space of Li Xiucheng. During the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom's more than three years in Suzhou, Li Xiu became the Loyalty Palace and added many buildings. Until the Qing army occupied Suzhou, a huge project was still going on. The Qing soldiers who killed all the way into the Zhongyi Palace were dumbfounded. In addition to the extremely luxurious gardens, the craftsmen in the gardens are still making gardens all the time, which really surprises them.
