There are no walls on the left and right sides of the entrance door. How to make the shoe cabinet?
1. decorate the porch
There are no walls on both sides of the entrance door, which means that both sides of the entrance door will be wider. If the area permits, set up a "small porch", which not only makes the space feel layered, but also buffers the entrance, as well as a good location for setting up a shoe cabinet; If the entrance door is facing the bathroom door, it will also have a good shielding effect (as shown in figure 1).
When the newly-built entrance side is set as a solid wall, clothes and bags can be hung by installing hooks, which is also convenient for hanging keys; If you feel that the wall makes the family space "shrink" and feel cramped, you can use high-permeability partitions such as glass partitions and hollow partitions to combine with the wall, which is both transparent and layered.
The setting of the shoe cabinet can be a top cabinet or a combination of shoe cabinets and partitions, which can be selected according to functional requirements, apartment types and personal preferences. I think the distance from the shoe cabinet to the entrance door is generally around1.2 ~1.5m. If it is too small, the entrance will be crowded. If it is too big, it will waste space and be inconvenient to use as a shoe cabinet.
2. Place the shoe cabinet perpendicular to the entrance door.
A shoe cabinet is vertically arranged at one side of the entrance door, which can be independent or combined with the wall.
(1) Build a new wall perpendicular to the entrance door, and combine the shoe cabinet with the wall to make an "embedded" shoe cabinet. Treating the newly-built wall and the surrounding wall in the same way can enhance the unity of the shoe cabinet and the family space, and will not make the shoe cabinet feel embarrassed because of "hard insertion" into the family environment, and it will be clean and tidy. The shoe cabinet model is selected according to its own functional requirements.
⑵ Another way is to set the shoe cabinet directly. Although its "integration" with family space will not be a problem, it is easier to put it there as a piece of furniture. In my opinion, its integrity will be weaker.
3. Place the shoe cabinet parallel to the entrance door.
Set the shoe cabinet and the entrance door on one side wall of the same horizontal plane, or set them separately or in combination with other functions.
(1) If the wall on one side of the household is not in the living room or dining room area, we can only consider meeting the use needs of the household area and make a "simple" shoe cabinet setting, which is generally set to "into the wall" or a separate shoe cabinet.
The newly-built wall "constructs" the "special area" of the shoe cabinet, so that the shoe cabinet is "embedded" in it. The added walls and surrounding walls are designed and treated evenly, and the spatial integrity will be good.
The shoe cabinet cover directly against the wall, as shown in the following figure, has a "notch" and "U" design on the side of the wardrobe near the entrance door, which is convenient to use and will not feel congested when entering the door.
⑵ If the dining area is on the home side, it will be a good way to integrate the shoe cabinet into the design of the sideboard cabinet.
The part used in the restaurant can be set as a combination of open storage compartments and lockers. The storage box is convenient for taking common items, and it is also good to put a few books into the dining room to turn it into a "reading area"; Lockers can be used to store items that are not commonly used or need to be collected, which can basically meet the use function of the restaurant area.
Shoe cabinets used in home areas are set as cabinets with doors for placing shoes, clothes, bags, etc. Will not make the space messy; All cabinets are treated equally, which not only enhances the integrity of the space, but also unconsciously "hides" the shoe cabinet and does not "destroy" the environment of the restaurant.
