Tips and methods of fishing in winter
Method is a Chinese word with a broad meaning. It generally refers to the means and behavior adopted to obtain something or achieve a certain goal. Below are the winter fishing tips and methods that I have compiled for you. Welcome to read and collect them.
1. Weather (warm fishing in winter)
Due to the cold weather, fish hide in winter, making it the off-season for fishing. Therefore, fishing temperature is the most important in winter. On sunny days when the sun is shining brightly, the air temperature and water temperature rise. Fish will be relatively active between 10 and 15 o'clock, when the sunlight is strongest. The fishing effect is best at this time, especially on warm and sunny days that last for many days. Fishing in foggy weather is not ideal in spring, summer and autumn. You can only catch more fish in winter, especially in late winter.
Because although the fog was thick, it covered the water like an antifreeze film and the temperature did not drop. Fishing on snowy days is sometimes good. In snowy weather without strong winds, the temperature is relatively stable and slightly higher than before and after the snowfall, and fish foraging is enhanced. Never go fishing on windy and rainy days, cloudy days with low temperatures or sudden cold weather. The minimum temperature suitable for fish feeding is 5℃.
2. Tips for selecting fishing spots
1. Choose no wind or breeze
The winter wind is very cold, blowing across the water surface to make the water temperature lower, and the fish Don't even dare to come out. Therefore, you should choose sunny days with no wind or gentle breeze and fish in leeward and sunny waters. The water temperature in these waters rises quickly, the dissolved oxygen is high, and there is plenty of food. Setting the hook at the junction of deep and shallow water will have good results. What is leeward? The other side of a mountain on the windward slope is the leeward slope, that is, the place where the wind cannot blow directly and is sheltered from the wind; the sunny side, that is, the place that faces the sun and is directly exposed to solar energy. In addition, places with steam on the water surface (there are springs under the water) are also good.
2. Choose small waters
Small waters have narrow water surfaces and are warmer than large waters. Fish tend to gather and the water temperature rises quickly after being exposed to sunlight. For example: small rivers, streams or small ponds, small pits for mixed breeding, etc.
3. Places with debris
Choose places with debris in the water or at the bottom for fishing. For example: aquatic plants, wooden piles, dead wood, rock nests, pits, bridge piers or beside sluices, etc.
4. Choose old nests for fishing
It is easier to catch fish if you choose old nests for fishing in winter. For example, the place where the pond owner puts feed every day will naturally become the fish’s nest after a long time. The canteen is a good nest; there are often people washing clothes, food, vegetables, tableware, etc. in streams and rivers. Over time, fish become accustomed to visiting these food-rich places.
5. The fishing position should be deep
When the ground temperature is around 8℃, the temperature of the deep water about 2 meters away is still above 20℃. Therefore, fish and other creatures will dive collectively in the cold winter and swim upward less frequently. The weather is cooler in the morning and evening in early winter, so you can try fishing in deeper waters first; in early winter, the temperature is hot at noon, and the water temperature in shallow water is higher than that in deep water. It does not get cooler until 17:00, so you can try fishing in shallow waters in the middle and afternoon. In cold winter, the water depth is 3.5 meters and the water temperature can reach 3-5℃. The deepest water level for winter fishing is generally 3-4 meters. The situation will be different if it exceeds 4 meters. The deeper the fishing, the better.
It is better to fish for dark grass. Ming grass grows on the shore, and the water level generally does not exceed two meters. After winter, it is not suitable for fish to survive the winter. Dark grass usually grows on the river bottom 10 meters away from the shore. Because of the depth of the water, the grass cannot grow above the water surface and there is an appropriate water temperature. If you find a vague piece of dark grass, you can choose a sparse grass gap to make a nest and start fishing, but be careful to prevent hooks.
3. Specialize in fishing for crucian carp
In winter, the drop in water temperature causes the fish to hibernate, so crucian carp can survive at 0-32°C. At this time, even if the water temperature drops to 3°C, they can still eat. Although the food intake is greatly reduced, as long as their habitat is found, they can still catch fish. The feeding water temperature of other fish in fresh water is 2-3°C higher than that of crucian carp. Therefore, when fishing in winter, you should focus on crucian carp in the selection of target fish, fishing gear and bait.
IV. Fishing gear should be sophisticated
1. Hand pole
The general target species for fishing in winter is crucian carp, and the fish must be fished deep, sometimes far (near) (The water is too shallow), it is suitable to use a hand rod instead of a throwing rod. Use a light and soft hand rod above 4.5 meters. Generally, three-seven or four-six is the best. It is suitable for small and soft fishing groups in winter and is not easy to run away. fish.
2. Line hook floating pendant
In winter, fish eat less, the line should be thin and soft, and the hook should be small. The main line is No. 0.6-0.8, the sub-line is No. 0.3-0.5, and the sub-line is 5-6 cm long; the main line is soft, which is conducive to small floats and light falling, and the straight line group is increased, and the sub-line is soft and does not block the fish's mouth. The hooks can be No. 4-5 Haixi hook, No. 2 Izu, No. 3 sleeve hook, etc.
The pendant should be light, usually a small streamlined pendant. The float should be small, such as a small cylindrical float, a dripping float, a seven-star float, a long-tail float (17 mesh) No. 1 to 3, or a homemade foam cone-shaped small float to adjust the spirit and catch the spirit. The buoyancy of the floating and hooked baits must be equal so that the fishing rig can be sensitive. If the water depth is more than 3 meters, the float and sinker can be appropriately increased to effectively straighten the waterline and transmit signals in a timely manner. Use a shorter main line or fish closer. When throwing the rod, do not fill the rod full to avoid the wind line being too long.
5. Fishing bait should be fine
In winter, fish eat less and move less. If you want to attract them, the bait must be in good condition, bright in color, fresh in taste, light and soft.
In terms of condition: good atomization, dispersibility and hook holding properties, fine powder, soft bait opening, palatable bait, etc. Fresh insect bait is better; in terms of color: for example, bright colors of red, yellow and white; in terms of taste: The combination of aroma and fishy taste; the bait ball is light, small and soft, making it easier for fish to eat it smoothly.
When opening the bait, an appropriate amount of snow powder or bran can be added to the bait to reduce the proportion of the bait. If it is too heavy, the bait will sink into the sauce layer as soon as it hits the bottom, and the fish will smell it but cannot eat it. The best bait in winter is red worms, which have a good luring effect. If earthworms are used, red ones are better, and musk liquid or other essences can be used to make dipping bait. If you are not used to insect bait, you can use flour bait instead.
6. Nest-making skills
Build more nests, sow more seeds and harvest less. The nest materials should be added with fishy-smelling commercial bait or fresh insect bait, as well as medicinal wine brewed Millet, etc., but the smell should not be stronger than that of fishing bait. Don’t use too much nest material at one time, but make it less often. In winter, fish eat less and move less. After setting up their nests, it will take at least two hours for fish to approach their nests, even with strong-flavored baits.
It is unscientific to expect fish news within 20-30 minutes like in spring, summer and autumn. You should wait quietly. Make 3-5 nests and start fishing two hours later. When there is no fish news in nest A, you can consider changing to nest B to try fishing for about 40 minutes. If there is no fish news, switch to nest C and try fishing one by one. After testing out that there are fish in a certain nest, don’t change it even if the catch is small. You will be satisfied if you can catch fish in winter. If no fish comes after one hour of fishing, you can mend the nest in small quantities so that if there are fish biting the hook, the nest will not be re-opened, and if there are no fish biting the hook, the nest will be re-opened frequently.
7. Winter Fishing Methods
Three words: "Diligence, Spirituality and Stability": During the fishing process, you must be diligent in fishing. After throwing the pole, you can gently float it if it does not move for a few minutes. Pull the fishing rod to move the hook and bait, and tease it once every 1-2 minutes; the float can be adjusted, such as adjusting 2 to catch 1 or 2 to catch 2, or even leveling the water to catch 1 mesh; catching fish and fishing must be steady .
In winter, fish have small openings and swallow bait lightly. After the signal appears on the float, the hook does not completely enter. Sometimes you can ignore the first bite and catch the second or third bite to increase the rate of catching fish. Fishing in winter is different from other seasons. When a signal appears on the float, you must raise the pole as vertically as possible to increase the rate of catching fish. In addition, the fish must be picked up steadily. In winter, the fish swallows the hook shallowly, has little struggling force, and has a thin fishing gear. The fish can be gently pulled out of the water and then fished out with a dip net.
