The Historical Culture of Boundary Island Scenic Area

Why is this small island called Fenjiezhou? At the top of Fenjiezhou Mountain, there is a stone tablet set up by the Geographical Names Office of Hainan Province, which indicates that there is a dividing line there, which is the dividing line between the north and south climate of Hainan. This magical nature boundary line, which stretches from the far sea, passes through the boundary continent and extends to the opposite Niu Ling, is considered as the boundary line between the north and south climate in Hainan. It can often be seen here that there are dark clouds in the north of Niu Ling Ridge, but the sun is shining in Lingnan; In winter, the sky is gloomy in the north of Lingnan, but sunny in Lingnan. The treacherous and changeable weather can be seen at a glance here. In fact, the whole boundary ridge (Niu Ling) is a continuation of Wuzhishan Mountains. Hundreds of millions of years ago, the rapid extrusion of continental plates formed this beautiful island. The earliest historical record about Fenjiezhou is Qu Yun's usurpation of Lingshui County Records in the 57th year of Qianlong. Among them, it is recorded: "Jiashe Island is 4 miles east of the city. Plus, there is a sea outside the Yuyu River, and it is a middle island, which is more than 3 feet high. " Among them, it refers to the current boundary continent. In addition, according to research, Fenjiezhou was a fortress for military strategists in ancient times, and it was also a place for businessmen to sail from the wind. There is an ancient post road of Wanling in Niu Ling at the entrance of Fenjiezhou Scenic Area, which is the only way for Wanning to travel with Lingshui. This post road was built at the end of Yuan Dynasty and the beginning of Ming Dynasty. Although this ancient post road has disappeared, in the old days, many literati and officials left many poems praising the boundary continent here, which made the boundary continent famous since ancient times.
