Extended data:
Before 2006, the scientific community always believed that there were nine planets in the solar system, which were Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto in the order of distance from the sun.
In the resolution No.5 adopted by the 26th International Astronomical Union held in Prague on August 24th, 2006, Pluto was listed as a dwarf planet and excluded from the nine planets in the solar system.
The order of distance from the sun is: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. Among them, Mercury is closest to the sun and Neptune is farthest from the sun.
