New policy of rural cemetery demolition
In order to promote the funeral reform, the Regulations on the Administration of Funeral was revised last year. It is clearly pointed out that measures such as "two demolition and three cleaning" should be implemented. The so-called "two demolition and three clean-ups" refers to the investigation of major events in rural areas, the investigation of illegal activities in the funeral industry, and the investigation of feudal activities carried out by funeral in individual areas. These two "demolition" refer to the demolition of luxury tombs in rural areas and "killing the field", which refers to the act of preparing tombs before people die. In fact, although the state encourages people to be cremated, the newly revised Regulations on Funeral Management does not require farmers not to be buried. On the contrary, the Regulations on Funeral Management stipulates that burial is allowed in areas that do not have cremation conditions for the time being. It is only suggested that cremation should be carried out in areas with dense population, little arable land and convenient transportation. There is no relevant clause requiring that it cannot be buried.
Legal basis:
Take Changsha Funeral Management Regulations as an example. The local people's government also gives monetary rewards to ordinary people who don't carry out soil burial, but adopt tree burial, flower burial, lawn burial, ashes scattering in the sea, etc. But there is no specific reward.
