What are the precautions for riding in winter?
1. Don't try to be brave and wear less clothes.
Maybe you think you have a great figure, and a bloated coat will cover up your tendinitis or tease Han's waistline, but don't forget, it's the twelfth month of winter, and cold outdoor and air-conditioned rooms are not the same concept! If the clothes are too thin, the sudden temperature difference will easily make your physical condition decline because of the cold before you start riding, thus failing to achieve the best exercise effect and increasing the chance of injury. In addition, friends who have had cycling experience in winter know that even if you can maintain a stable output, your body will feel cold after riding for a long time because of the decrease of ambient temperature.
Therefore, in view of the above situation, when riding in winter, first of all, please be sure to prepare a warm coat and cycling pants so that you will not feel cold.
2. Don't dress like a bear either.
Many cyclists are afraid of the cold and want to put on all the equipment they can wear at home-this is also a misunderstanding. Please pay attention to the sentence at the end of the last paragraph "coat and cycling pants that can keep you from feeling cold". That's right! When riding in winter, our clothes should be controlled at a critical point-that is, we won't feel cold or too thick.
Because, if you wear too much, your body will produce a lot of sweat after a long ride. In the first half of riding, sweat can even make you feel overheated and very uncomfortable. In the second half of riding, when the body begins to relax a little, the heat on the body surface will begin to evaporate, and these non-dry sweat will become "showers", which will quickly reduce the heat on your body surface. At this point, you will start to feel cold all over, and even cause a cold, which is not worth the candle.
It is more reasonable to wear thinner clothes when going out to ride, so that you can make fine adjustments according to your physical condition and environmental temperature during riding.
3. Avoid frostbite of hands and feet
When riding in winter, your hands and feet are actually very easy to freeze. After riding in the cold for a long time, our hands and feet will even be stiff and unconscious-the perch cat was caught in a rain when riding around the lake in late spring, and it was soaked through for 80 kilometers when the temperature was only about 5 degrees. At that time, my hands were so stiff that I almost lost the ability to dial the transmission and slide the screen of my mobile phone until I got to my destination, took a rest and took a hot bath.
This is actually a very dangerous thing! In the cold, hands and feet are likely to be frostbitten and it takes a long time to recover. Moreover, for female cyclists, frostbite on their delicate hands is definitely something they don't want to see. So please choose cycling gloves and socks that can keep warm for a long time. Friends who use lock shoes try to put on shoe covers, especially mountain lock shoes, because the soles are easy to breathe.
In addition, windproof masks, magic headscarves and other equipment are also necessary for riding in winter.
Wearing sunglasses
Whether your eyesight is good or bad, please wear sunglasses when cycling in winter. First, protect your eyes from the cold wind for a long time to avoid frostbite and inflammation caused by the wind. Second, prevent sweat or rain/snow water from flowing into eyes. Professional sports sunglasses are tightly attached to the face, forming a barrier at the brow bone to prevent water from flowing into the eyes.
When the light is weak in winter, it is recommended to use sports sunglasses with light or colorless lenses as your riding companion.
Please be sure to control your speed and choose wider tires.
I don't need to elaborate on this point-when winter comes, snow or frost will make the road slip easily, greatly increasing the probability of accidents. Moreover, the road surface in winter is extremely hard, and if you fall off the car, it is easy to cause more serious injuries. Therefore, please be sure to control your riding speed and try to choose wider tires with stronger grip to ensure the stability of the bicycle during driving.
6. Install taillights and helmets.
As mentioned above, the road surface will become slippery in winter due to snow, frost and other reasons, so the braking distance of the car will increase. The purpose of installing taillights is to let motor vehicles see you from a farther place, so as to take effective braking and avoidance measures to avoid safety accidents.
There are taillights, please be sure to choose red! Using those white xenon headlights as taillights, even if the driver's eyes at the rear of the car are made of krypton, they will be blinded by strong light, making it more difficult for the driver to distinguish your exact position, so it is more dangerous!
The importance of the helmet is not reiterated, you must wear it!
