Animals defy nature and can also be "weather forecasters"!
Spring is here, crickets are chirping, birds are chirping, flowers are laughing, and the little animals can’t hold it in any longer and are coming out to celebrate the spring~ In fact, animals are the most sensitive to weather changes. You may not know that there are 600 species of animals in the world that can be called "weather forecasters". Mr. Zhili admires these little animals so much that today we have invited a little one who is considered a top weather forecast expert. Animals are our guests~ Let’s experience the style of forecasting masters together! Learn from them, hehe~
Have you ever heard the elderly at home say this? When you clearly hear crickets singing "chirp" at night, you can generally predict that tomorrow will be a good day. , suitable for traveling on the road; when dragonflies fly up and down in the sky, it indicates that there will be heavy rain in an hour or two, and I ask you to remember to bring an umbrella when you go out... At that time, did you admire these observations of your elders? Ability, in fact, this is the special ability of small animals to predict the weather. Below we will introduce some small animals that can predict the weather. After reading this, maybe you can become a weather forecast expert by observing these animals~ It’s amazing~
It will rain when ants move house
If ants come out of their holes in groups, it indicates that heavy rain is coming. There is a saying that "the ants will not clear up tomorrow". Before it rains, due to the increase in humidity in the air, the moisture absorbed by the soil increases significantly. As a result, ant nests living in the soil become moist. Although they live underground, ants naturally like dryness and have an organ on their bodies that senses moisture. Before a heavy rain, when there is high moisture and humidity in the air, they have a keen sense that it is going to rain. The ants will crawl out and move to higher places one after another to prevent being flooded by rain. Use the method of moving ants to predict the weather accurately. Once it's going to rain, they move one by one. If they move lower, the rain will be lighter; if they move higher, it means the rain will be heavier. When ants block the entrance to their nest, it indicates that there will be heavy rain. This is because ants are very sensitive to changes in air pressure and humidity.
Look at the forecast of sunny and rainy days when bees leave and return to the nest
Bees are hard-working people and must grasp the changes of sunny and rainy days, so it is most appropriate to rely on bees to "forecast" sunny or rainy days. When bees collect honey, if they leave the nest early and return late, it means it will be sunny the next day; if they leave the nest late and return early, it means there will be rain soon; if it rains for several days in a row, the bees will brave the rain to collect honey. Honey, it means the weather will turn sunny.
Spiders weaving webs indicate that the weather will change from cloudy to sunny. On cloudy and rainy days, if the air pressure rises and the humidity decreases, and insects fly high, spiders will set up their webs to catch them. On the contrary, if spiders close their webs, it indicates that it will rain. As the saying goes: "Spiders build webs, and if it rains for a long time, it will clear up."
When fish jump out of the water, the storm will come soon
Zhilijun tells you that the animals in the water are absolutely amazing at predicting the weather. No less than the insects on land. The weather forecast for fish is "the fish are jumping out of the water, the wind and rain are coming soon", "the fish are blooming in the river, and it is raining from the sky". When rain is approaching, the weather is dull and dull, which reduces the amount of dissolved oxygen in the water, so fish float to the upper layer of the water or even to the surface to breathe.
There is a popular farmer's proverb: "When Xiaoshu blows from the northwest, carps fly away from Cuojiao." That is to say, when Xiaoshu blows from the northwest and there is heavy rain, carp jump out of the water and jump very high. "Thunder roars in Xiaoshu, and fish and shrimps jump on the water." - It rains and thunders in Xiaoshu. The weather is sultry and hot, and fish and shrimps jump to the water. The white hairtail fish shoots an arrow, and the outer sea is open to the sea (don't want to), which means that the abnormal behavior of the hairtail fish can be seen that strong winds are coming, and fishermen should not go fishing in the open sea.
Loach dances in the water as heavy rain falls
Loach is the most common fish in the water. The whole body is slippery, the back and sides are gray-black, and the whole body is covered with small black spots. There are large black spots on the tail handle. There are 5 pairs of tentacles around the small eyes and mouth. Loaches like to inhabit the bottom of still water. Western Europeans call loach a climate fish. When the weather is sultry and there is a severe lack of oxygen in the water before it rains, the loaches are forced to scurry up and down in order to breathe air, as if performing a dance in the water. This is the precursor of heavy rain.
A tropical fish that lives on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea has special functions. It can predict the weather "accurately" through the weather station. Local residents call it a "weather fish" and keep it in a fish tank to observe the weather; if the fish roams along the tank wall, the weather is either cloudy or cloudy; if it floats on the water and is restless, it will definitely rain; if it is quiet, it will rain. If it lies at the bottom of the tank without moving, it must be a sunny day.
Jellyfish: “understand” infrasound waves
The bodies of living creatures have special structures and special functions. When the sea is angry, the raging waves are like thousands of troops, roaring and running. In this majestic "symphony", there is a kind of infrasound wave that cannot be felt by human ears. It is produced by the friction between air and waves and propagates much faster than storms and waves. Take jellyfish, for example, which is one of the marine creatures that can "understand" infrasound waves. The infrasound waves generated by the storm impact the jellyfish suspended in the water. There is a kind of hard otolith hidden in the flesh cavity of the jellyfish ear. The otolith stimulates the nerve receptors in the "ball", so the jellyfish immediately leaves the shore and swims to a slightly calmer place. The bottom of the deep sea took shelter from the violent storm.
At the same time, jellyfish can predict the arrival of typhoons in advance. The message is sent from a small hearing stone on the jellyfish, which looks like a human ear.
The infrasound waves generated by the friction between waves and air impact the hearing stones, stimulating the surrounding nerve receptors, allowing them to receive information more than ten hours before the storm approaches.
