Beihai, alias "Pearl City", is a prefecture-level city in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, an important node city of Beibu Gulf urban agglomeration and Guangxi Beibu Gulf Economic Zone. It is 206 kilometers away from the capital Nanning in the northwest, 0/98 kilometers away from Zhanjiang, Guangdong, and 0/47 nautical miles away from Haikou, Hainan in the southeast. The terrain is generally high in the north and low in the south, and it is flat and open. The climate belongs to the maritime monsoon climate with typical subtropical characteristics.
