About no main light indoors

When decorating a house, the designer’s design was that there would be no main lights in the whole house and all would be replaced by spotlights. This point was strongly questioned by my husband and the construction company. The construction company even went to my colleague's house to talk about their home decoration. When I mentioned it to my colleague, my colleague called me and persuaded me to give up such an alternative idea.

I'm confused. I understand the designer’s intention and I accept this concept. Lighting plays a key role in creating an atmosphere. She is a practitioner of Waldorf and studied product design. She should be considered relatively professional in this area, and I trust her. After living in a house for so many years, I actually don’t like the ceiling lights on the roof. If the light is too bright, the interior will feel less soft. If the lampshade was frosted, it would become softer, but I found that I couldn't see anything very clearly. I mean reading under the lamp. Because at home, apart from housework, I just read and study. I dislike the main light in the bedroom the least. I don’t like having my eyes dazzled by the headlight while lying on the bed. Therefore, I rarely turn it on, mostly desk lamps. The Feng Shui master also said at that time that in future renovations, ceiling lights should not be installed in the bedroom and wall lights should be used instead. This time the design happens to be a wall lamp plus a spotlight. Fits my needs. The dilemma is in the living room. My husband is worried that the room is too dark and the spotlights are too bright, which will not achieve the desired effect. Regarding everyone's concerns, I asked the designer, and she said simply and rudely that they didn't understand. I am a professional in this matter. It’s hard for me to ask any more questions. We can only wait for the final results to come out before making any judgment.

Yesterday I remembered that I should go to the lighting market and check it out. As a result, I asked seven or eight companies, and they all thought my designer was very different. They said they had never seen such a design before, and the effect would definitely not be good, and they advised me to give up. The more I asked, the more congested I became. Until the last one, the store owner said, OK, many people in the south have designs like this. Yes, my designer is from Hangzhou, so he is from the south.

Finally found a supporter, no matter what her intentions were. Her lamps meet my requirements and the price is relatively cheap, which is in line with my expectations. I don’t want to buy something too expensive because I’m worried that the effect won’t work and I’ll have to replace it and reinstall the main light. There will be a long time to come, and if the effect is really good, I will replace it with a better light.

I found a way out and felt more comfortable. Talking to my best friend, she said that it would be a good idea to try it once. What if this is the result we want. It's a big deal, it's just a little extra money. I also think so, it won’t be too bad. At worst, I can add the main light. Anyway, the wires are all left.

My best friend said that after the decoration is completed this time, I believe you will have a lot of feelings. Indeed, there are many feelings. There is learning and breakthrough everywhere.

Looking forward to a new home.
