Write an interview diary

Unforgettable historical picture-excerpts from interview diary Source: Author: Chen Lixia On July 23rd, Chongqing turned cloudy to light rain.

In the afternoon, 1 1 alumni attended the Chongqing alumni forum. 84-year-old Mr. Lan Shijie and Mr. Xu Tianyi from 9 1 came. As soon as they met, the old gentlemen who had been away for many years embraced each other very excitedly, which touched everyone present.

Teacher Zhou, president of Chongqing Alumni Association, said that five years in school is not only about learning knowledge, but also about learning methods and self-study ability. After going to work, I can constantly improve myself, work with ease, and overcome various difficulties. Mr. Xu Tianyi said that Wu Da was a "social university" at that time, with teachers and students all over Leshan and strong faculty. Students' study style is honest. They study hard and practice hard. They lay a good foundation and take exams seriously. There is a strong academic atmosphere. At that time, there were wall newspapers run by various student associations in the Confucian Temple, as well as many progressive organizations such as "starting a prairie fire", "general literature" and "anti-research society". Campus activities are rich, and Wuhan University students learned it at that time. Xu teacher lovingly recited his own "Qinyuanchun".

July 25 Leshan Qing

Facing the morning sunshine, accompanied by the enthusiastic Leshan alumnus Li Yuxian, we came to the Leshan Confucian Temple, which we have thought about for countless times. This is a "holy land" for teachers and students of Wu Da University who are tenacious and optimistic and have difficult studies. The paint on the wall of the Confucian Temple has peeled off and become obsolete, and the worship of the Temple in the Presidential Palace of Wang Xinggong can vaguely reveal the grandeur and glory of that year.

Throughout the morning, we studied the back and forth of Confucius Temple. The teahouse on the top of the mountain in Xiao Lao, behind the Confucian Temple, is also a place where students of Wu University study. Standing on the top of the mountain, we have a panoramic view of most of Leshan City, which is really a good place to study.

In the afternoon, we walked along the old school road of Wu University students and came to Dragon Shrines, the original second student dormitory, which was one kilometer long. It's like a big quadrilateral. One of the buildings was almost completely destroyed by the "8. 19" explosion in Leshan, and the dilapidated courtyard and old marks became the most well-preserved dormitory for military college students. Only the blackened and worn wooden beams of the blue tiles seem to be telling the excitement and anger of the year. Leshan Teachers College is located on the bank of Dadu River, built on the former site of Institute of Technology, with its school gate facing Dadu River, Leshan Giant Buddha at the confluence of three rivers in the east and Emei Mountain, a famous Buddhist mountain in the west. It is said that when the weather is clear, you can overlook the Jinding of Emei Mountain.

Teachers' College is a university connected with the veins of Wuda University. Its motto is "Hongyi strives for self-improvement, studies hard and practices hard". There is Luojia Road in the school, and even the building "Zhuoyu Pavilion" preserved to this day during the Leshan period of Wuda University.

In Moro Library, we came to the Wu Da Memorial Hall hidden in the museum. The whole memorial hall is dominated by red, and the plaque inscribed by the alumnus General Wu Xiuquan is hung at the door. The screen below is inlaid with the photos of President Wang Xinggong and President Zhou Yusheng, as well as the school emblem and motto of that year. We were stunned when we walked into the memorial hall. There are well-preserved old photos, students' notes and papers, and all kinds of precious materials, pictures and objects. What attracted me most was an original class note by Mr. Yu Daguang, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in the window, which was detailed in both Chinese and English, with exquisite explanatory pictures. It is an excellent object of Wu Da's rigorous style of study, which is exactly where contemporary college students should study.

July 26 Leshan Qing

Today, we interviewed two alumni, namely, 90-year-old mechanical alumnus Lu and 87-year-old civil alumnus Hu Chengkuan. Mr. Hu Chengkuan's Chinese teacher is Su, one of the "three outstanding women". Teacher Hu recalled the scene of class that year. What impressed me deeply was Mrs. Lu, the first alumnus we interviewed. At that time, few girls could go to college. Teacher Lu and her compatriot sister Lu Xianglin went to Wu Da successively and became the famous "Second Sister Lu" in Leshan at that time. The legendary two sisters must have been very clever and excellent in those days.

90-year-old teacher Lu, with quick thinking and clear and orderly speech, surprised me. The Wuda Leshan Memorial Hall was established at the initiative of Lushi sisters and other alumni. She walks around the memorial hall with crutches almost every day, caring for every exhibit in the memorial hall like her own children. What a heavy emotion this should be! This is as explained by Lao Lu's own words: "Although Wu Da has moved away for 70 years, he has never left in my heart."

July 27th Leshan Qing

After running for a whole day, I finally photographed almost all the former sites and locations of Leshan Wuda University.

"8? 19 "air crash memorial square was built to commemorate the brutal bombing of Leshan city by Japanese troops on August 1939. On the top of the monument, "8? 19 "several gold-plated numbers are extremely eye-catching. Four stone pillars stand separately, engraved with patterns such as airplanes. The stone pillar surrounds a huge dark stone tablet, and it seems that a hole suddenly exploded in the middle. The monument still maintains a quiet "shock". Among the more than 7,000 victims in Leshan, there were 5 martial arts students, 2 faculty members and 7 faculty members' families. This is a blood debt that every China person should always remember.

There is a Christian church near the former site of the fifth dormitory of Wuhan University. Li Yunkuan, an alumnus we interviewed, said that at that time, teachers often taught in English, and her listening was not good, but she didn't have more opportunities to practice listening after class. In desperation, she thought of the church, so she often went to the church to listen to sermons to practice her listening. At that time, smart Wushu college students tried their best to create various learning environments.

On the way to the former site of "Dormitory No.8" in Wuda Cemetery, we found that we had left our tripod in the taxi. Just when everyone was anxious, the taxi appeared in front of us. The kind driver returned the original to us, and everyone thanked us again and again. With the recovery of the tripod, we invisibly added a good impression to the people of Leshan.

In the afternoon, I photographed the sixth dormitory, the fourth dormitory, the school of science, the internship factory and the former site of the White House (girls' dormitory). These days, several key words of Leshan-"Babao rice", Huoba disease, Confucius Temple, "White House" and so on, have penetrated into our minds, stringing together the past events one by one, forming a historical picture, which we can't forget for a long time.
