Where is the site of the Yuan Dynasty now located?
Metropolitan site in Yuan Dynasty, the capital of China in Yuan Dynasty. Also known as Kambaluk City. Located in the old city of Beijing and its northern area. It was built in Yuan Shizu in the 4th year of Yuan Dynasty (1267), with Daning Palace in Jin Dynasty (now Qionghua Island in Beihai) as the center, and the main project was completed in Yuan Shizu period. Dadoucheng was the capital of the Yuan Dynasty, including the inner city of the old city of Beijing and its north, and it was the largest city in the world at that time. It was founded in the fourth year of Yuan Dynasty (1267) and basically completed in the thirteenth year of Yuan Dynasty (1276).
The plane of Dadoucheng is rectangular, the walls are all rammed, and there are 1 1 gates on all sides, which are composed of outer city, imperial city and Miyagi. The city is 7600 meters long from north to south and 6700 meters long from east to west, with a total area of about 50 square kilometers. The imperial city is located in the south of the outer city, and Miyagi is in the east of the imperial city. The planning and design of the whole city is dominated by the idea of the Han rulers to build the capital, and follows the system of "the former dynasty has a city view, and the left ancestors have a right society". Ruins such as city gates, streets, water culverts, sewers and residential sites were found in the city site, and the unearthed objects were mainly porcelain.
Extended data:
Most of the buildings in the Yuan Dynasty were built on the ground, which laid the standard for the capital of China in the late feudal society. It has three walls, former dynasties, left ancestors and right societies, streets with nine meridians and nine latitudes, and the standard street network layout, which has become a summary of urban development since the Song Dynasty and occupies an important position in the history of China's capital development. In the planning of the Yuan Dynasty, most of them also paid attention to promoting the development of commerce, and developed water supply and drainage systems and perfect military defense and internal supervision facilities. It was a famous metropolis in the world at that time.
Street remains found in northeast China in Yuan Dynasty. On the east and west sides of the north-south main street, there are many east-west hutongs arranged at equal intervals. Today, 22 east-west hutongs in the inner city of Beijing from Chaoyangmen (Yuanqihuamen) to Dongzhimen (Yuanchongrenmen) are old traces at that time. There are three major markets in Dadoucheng, namely, the market from the north shore of Haizi to Gulou, the market around Xisi T-shaped Street and the market at Privy Council Corner (now Wangfujing Street to Art Museum).
