Quanjude Legend Quanjude Legend
Quanjude, the name of which is familiar to more than one billion people in China, is also a household name internationally. But who knows what its predecessor was called? Who is its founder? What kind of hard struggle have you experienced?
"Virtue gathers people" into "Quanjude"
1834, Yang Conghe, who was only 15 years old, came to Beijing to set up a stall in Qianmen Street to sell raw chickens and ducks. Two benches and a chopping board are all his possessions. Yang, only 15 years old, lives on the meager income of selling chickens and ducks every day. Every day when the sun goes down, on his way home from work, Yang will pass by the largest roast duck restaurant in Beijing at that time-Cheap Square. This clever and hard-working teenager silently made a wish in his heart: one day, he can open a roast duck restaurant of his own.
In order to realize this dream, Yang waited for 30 years.
1864, 45-year-old Yang had enough savings in his hand, so he opened a dried fruit shop called Dejuquan and turned it into his own roast duck shop. In order to give his roast duck restaurant a good name, Yang also invited Mr. Feng Shui. Mr. Feng Shui looked at the storefront and told him that if a building was built above the new store, it would form the shape of an eight-sedan chair with the Jinger Hutong next to it, so that Yang could sit on the eight-sedan chair, and the business of the new store would get better and better. However, as far as Yang's financial resources were concerned at that time, it was only a dream to sit on the "eight sedan chair". All he can do is turn Deju upside down into his own font size and ask someone to write a plaque. I don't know why, since then, a horizontal line has been missing under "Germany", which has become an unsolved mystery until today.
At first, Quanjude's business was not very good. He also knows that if you want to stand on the street full of restaurants outside the front door and become a famous shop like Bargain Plaza, you must have your own characteristics in addition to rich business experience. He paid a lot of money to invite Master Sun, who used to be the royal chef. When Master Sun arrived, Quanjude's business really exploded. Because he brought a completely different roast duck hanging technology from the traditional braised roast duck.
Quanjude's business is getting better every day. At this time, Yang remembered Mr. Feng Shui's words. For the dream of sitting in a big chair, Yang started. He owes a lot of money for this. It's a pity that Yang didn't see the completion of this two-story building. No sooner had the first floor been built than Yang died at 1890.
The new shopkeeper invented the voucher.
After Yang's death, Li, a native of Shandong, became the new shopkeeper of Quanjude. Previously, he worked as an accountant in another restaurant. When Li Gang took office, debt collectors came to you one after another.
In order to deal with these debt collectors, people were sent to wrap some gravel in red paper as silver and sandbags as flour. But these methods, although temporarily sent away those debt collectors, can not be dealt with for a long time after all. After a long time, debt collectors will not only make trouble at home, but also ruin Quanjude's reputation. However, at that time, Quanjude was really short of funds. In desperation, the shrewd Li came up with a way to kill two birds with one stone-to start issuing duck tickets to pay off debts.
Quanjude issued duck tickets during Tongzhi, Guangxu and Xuantong years, especially when Quanjude built a two-story building. In order to raise funds, a large number of duck tickets were issued. 1923, Quanjude stopped issuing duck tickets. It is a pity that Quanjude failed to leave a duck ticket due to social unrest and vicissitudes.
Quanjude duck tickets are printed on red rice paper. The duck ticket is rectangular, with two corners cut off at the top and the words "Quanjude Duck Shop Ticket" printed on the head. The contents of the bill are: take two roast ducks, pay a certain amount of money, and sign the red seal of Quanjude at the signature.
Soon, Beijingers will give each other tickets for Quanjude Roast Duck when they visit their homes on holidays. This kind of duck ticket not only replaces the oil duck, but also can be given as a gift to relatives and friends, which is very affordable (just like today's supermarket coupons and transportation cards). Naturally, this convenient and decent duck ticket quickly became popular in Beijing. Due to good management, after three years, all the debts owed by Li Lao's shopkeeper were paid off.
In addition to thinking about management, Li is also unique in management. In order to win more customers, he personally went to other restaurants to find an excellent foreman (equivalent to a foreman). A good leader must have a very good memory. He knows his identity once, and he will react immediately when he comes next time. Guests will be very happy and become regular customers from now on. In addition, in order to convince every customer that Quanjude's products are genuine, Li also set up a special sales office when customers choose roast duck. The seller showed the live duck to the guest and asked the guest to write an inscription on the duck, indicating that the duck was his. This has won the appreciation of many guests.
Li also has strict requirements for the Shandong guys in the store. At six o'clock every morning, the guys in Quanjude get up and start a busy day. He asked the guys to behave in their daily lives and not to ruin the image of Quanjude. There was once a guy who was fired just because he saw a vulgar flower drum show. For those drug addicts or opium addicts, Li asked them to leave without mercy. He is reasonable to other honest people in the shop. If a young man is going to get married, Li will go all the way to attend their wedding, celebrate them and send a thick red envelope. So it won the hearts of the people.
From Wu to Zhang.
Just as Li was preparing for a big fight, the first direct war broke out in 1 June, 922, and the direct warlord Wu won. For a time, the news that all kinds of shops will be looted by soldiers is endless, and the shopkeepers on Qianmen Street are worried.
On this day, an officer came from Quanjudeli and claimed to be the quartermaster of the Wu army. He told Li that Wu Da
