What is the origin of Langshan in Nantong?
Before 2000, a large amount of sediment in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River gradually accumulated in the present Nantong area, making most of Nantong a piece of sandbar with complementary estuary and seaside.
During the Jin Dynasty, Langshan moved from the south bank of the Yangtze River to the center of the river with the main flood of the Yangtze River. In the Tang Dynasty, Langshan was still an island floating in the waters of the Yangtze River estuary. At the beginning of the Song Dynasty, the five mountains gradually connected with the land, and it flourished for nine years (103 1), on the north bank of Langshan Mountain.
During the Yuan and Ming Dynasties, Junshan once again entered the river, and it was not until the last year of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty (about 1722) that it merged with the land again. Since then, Wushan has ended its maritime history and officially landed on land.
