At ordinary times, the hedgehog's body temperature is about 35 degrees, while in hibernation, his body temperature is only 7.5 degrees. When the ambient temperature drops further, the lowest temperature of the hedgehog will even approach degrees.

Breathing gradually slows down, from 5 breaths per minute to only one breath every two hours, and breathing is very weak, so the oxygen consumption is only five thousandths of the normal level. The heartbeat is reduced from 2 beats per minute to 2 beats per minute.
