Range of activities of crucian carp in winter

In winter, the temperature is low and the water temperature is low. The shallow water area is affected by cold air, and the water temperature changes dramatically, which is not suitable for crucian carp to survive. In winter, under this extreme condition, crucian carp will show the characteristics of warming: that is, it will move to the deep water area with high water temperature and relatively constant temperature to reduce its own energy consumption.

In winter, under normal circumstances, rivers, lakes and crucian carp with bare water surface gather in the deep water area with a water depth of about 4 ~ 6 meters, showing the characteristics of eating less and moving less, with a small range of activities. In sunny and warm weather, crucian carp will swim from deep water to shallow water around noon one day in search of food.

In winter, in rivers and lakes rich in aquatic plants, crucian carp are generally hidden in aquatic plants as long as the water depth in the aquatic plants area is suitable.

Most of them don't swim in deep water for the winter. Crucian carp in aquatic plants can't swim very well.
