Origin of Guan Yinping’s name

It is said that when Miss Guan San was born, Zhang Fei went to congratulate her. He was very happy when he saw that the child was pink, tender and very cute. Orbs were given to her as gifts.

This orb has extraordinary treasures: it glows in the dark, can ward off evil spirits, keep warm in winter, drive away heat in summer, and can turn evil into good luck and bring good luck to people. The magical orb has an extraordinary origin. It was originally set in Lu Bu's purple gold crown. Lu Bu was captured in Baimenlou. Zhang Fei snatched it from Lu Bu's head and regarded it as a family heirloom. He once thought about dedicating it to Adou, but he thought Adou was weak and incompetent, so he gave up the idea. Later, I thought that I would pass it on to my son, and the son would pass it on to his grandson. It would be passed down from generation to generation in the Zhang family, so that the family fortune would be prosperous and prosperous. However, the third girl who met Guan Yu was overjoyed. She felt that as her third uncle, she should give her niece a good greeting gift, so she gave the pearl to Guan Yinping without hesitation and with a smile on her face.

Guan Yinping has been smart and very individual since she was a child. Guan Yu loved her very much and hired teachers to teach her reading. He also taught her martial arts when he was free. Because she often rubbed the magical orb, she became more beautiful and smarter as she grew. When she became an adult, she not only looked as handsome as a hibiscus just out of the water, but she was also proficient in music, chess, calligraphy and painting. People near and far praised her for her talent and beauty. People came to propose to her from morning to night, and the doorstep of her house was almost leveled.

When Jingzhou fell, Guan Yu and his family were scattered by the rebel army. Guan Xing couldn't find his mother, so he had to protect his sister Yinping and come to Chengdu to find Liu Bei and Zhang Fei. After losing her parents and eldest brother, Guan Yinping was so worried that she fainted from crying several times. Liu Bei loved her so much that he treated her as his own daughter and stayed in the palace. He ordered the imperial kitchen to provide delicacies from the mountains and seas, so that she could eat deliciously, warm her skin, and rejuvenate her internal organs to relieve the pain in her soul. pain. However, Yinping couldn't eat anything, so she said to Liu Bei: "The family feud has not been avenged, so I have no intention of enjoying happiness." She only wanted to spend her time eating bran-thick vegetables. Zhang Fei felt that the screen monster was pitiful, so he went to see her every three days and often gave her some silks and satins to make fashionable and beautiful clothes for her to wear. But she shed tears looking at these things and said: "The country's hatred has not disappeared, and I have no intention of dressing up." "I only want to wear silk skirts and don't want to wear silk or make-up." Liu Bei and Zhang Fei felt sad when they saw it. They held back their tears and advised her: "The dead can no longer live, and the living have to move on. You have to cheer up, read some poems and books, and do some needlework to distract yourself." The resentment in my heart." But Yinping said: "It is difficult to avenge with poetry and writing, and it is difficult to avenge hatred with needlework. I want to practice martial arts with swords and guns, and also go to the front line to fight!" Although she also learned some martial arts from her father when she was a child, her father was too busy fighting. She hadn't been taught many tricks, and she was already unfamiliar with them, so she was determined to relearn the true ability to kill enemies and avenge her parents and brother.

Liu Bei and Zhang Fei were very moved and agreed to her request. They invited the famous tiger general Zhao Yun to be her teacher and teach her martial arts. The teacher taught very seriously, and Yinping studied very hard. She wears the stars in the morning and is sweating all over the body; wears the moon in the evening and is covered in mud; practices Sanjiu in the winter, so she is not afraid of the cold weather; practices Sanfu in the summer, so she does not avoid the scorching heat. In the end, hard work paid off, and Guan Yinping finally developed good martial arts skills.

In the third year of Jianxing (AD 225), Liu Bei died, and Yong Kai and Meng Huo of Nanzhong rebelled. Nanzhong consists of four counties in the southern region of the Shu Han Dynasty, namely Yuexi County (today's Xichang area of Sichuan Province), Zanggao County (today's northwest Guizhou and eastern Yunnan areas), Jianning County (today's central Yunnan area), and Yongchang County (today's Yunnan Province). Western region). Various ethnic minorities live here. The wealthy family surnamed Yongkai who once dominated this area took advantage of the local ethnic conflicts and colluded with the Yi leader Meng Huo to rebel against Shu, hoping to occupy Nanzhong and establish himself as king. Once Nanzhong is lost, Shu Han will lose half of its territory, and the situation is extremely serious. Therefore, Zhuge Liang decided to personally lead the southern expedition. When Guan Yinping heard about it, he immediately went to Zhuge Liang and said, "Uncle...ah, no, Prime Minister, I want to go with you on the expedition.

"Zhuge Liang was very happy when he saw that she made her request clearly, but on the surface he remained calm, but he half-jokingly and half-seriously said to her: "The barbarian land is very desolate and too bitter and cold. The phoenix should not fall into the Cibalin!" Guan Yinping did not flinch, and said firmly: "Avenge your relatives and do your best for the Shu Han. Even if there are mountains and rivers and thorns on the road, you can go, and I can go!" Zhuge Liang suppressed his smile and stared sternly. Guan Yinping asked, "Did you know that our expedition this time was not to fight Soochow, but to quell the rebellion in the south?" Guan Yinping replied unambiguously: "How can I stand by and watch when the national crisis is looming? What are the divisions between southeast, northwest and northwest?" Zhuge Liang then asked seriously: "Tell me, why?" Guan Yinping thought for a while and said, "The original hatred between the family and the country was like a robbery in the front house; the current harassment in the south is like a fire in the backyard. "Wouldn't putting out the fire in the backyard be more conducive to fighting and catching robbers in the front house?" Seeing her eagerness to serve the country, Zhuge Liang finally agreed to let her go with the army.

After agreeing to Guan Yinping's request, Zhuge Liang pondered for a moment and remembered Li Hui's son Li Yi (Yinwei, also known as "Wei"). Li Hui was the governor of Xijiang (commanding the counties in Nanzhong, first governing Nanchang County, now Zhenxiong County, Yunnan Province; later moving to Pingyi County, now Fuyuan County, Yunnan Province), and Jiaozhou (Zhilongbian, now east of Hanoi, Vietnam). The governor was born in Jianning County (Zhiwei County, now Qujing County, Yunnan Province) and Yuyuan County (now Chengjiang County, Yunnan Province). He was outstanding in talent and learning and courageous. When Liu Bei first established the Shu Han regime, he went to Hanzhong County to contact Ma Chao, a famous Xiliang general, and made him surrender to Liu Bei, giving Liu Bei a tiger general with both wisdom and courage. Later, he took charge of the counties in Nanzhong. Although he was more than 2,000 miles away from Shu, he was able to act independently, pay attention to strategies, actively carry out work, and achieve a balance between hardness and softness, so that all local ethnic groups could live in harmony and made many contributions to the Shu Han. Now seeing the wealthy Yong Kai, Gaoding and Yi leader Meng Huo in the south central region rebelling, he was heartbroken and had no interest in eating or drinking. Perhaps influenced by Li Hui, Zhuge Liang once thought over and over again when he was preparing to go on an expedition that a strong dragon cannot defeat a local snake. Although force alone can be powerful for a while, it cannot last long. The way of using troops should be to "attack the heart first and attack the city." Therefore, he greatly admired Li Hui, a knowledgeable official who was familiar with the geographical conditions of the south and the nature of the southern barbarians, as well as the overall situation and the overall situation. He especially recommended him. He led the troops to the south with him.

Li Hui'er and Li Yi (Wei) are also one of the best talents. As soon as they heard the news of the riots in Nanzhong, they, like Guan Yinping, insisted on going with the army. Zhuge Liang thought to himself that a boy and a girl were like-minded, so why not take this opportunity to go on an expedition to accomplish this, so that the child without parents Yinping could go deep into the barren land, and there would always be someone by his side to accompany and protect him. So, he personally acted as a matchmaker and made Guan Yinping and Li Yi (Wei) get married for a hundred years. Zhao Yun naturally agreed deeply. On the wedding day, he gave Yinping a sword as a gift. This sword is called "Qingzhi Sword" and it originally belonged to Cao Cao. Cao Cao has two swords, one is called "Yitian Sword" and the other is called "Qingzhi Sword". Cao Cao carries the Yitian Sword himself; the Qingzhi Sword is carried by Xia Houen, the sword-carrying general, who follows Cao Cao at all times in case of unexpected events. Zhao Yun stabbed Xia Houen to death on Chang'an slope and won the Qingzhi Sword. This green sword is a rare thing in the world. It cuts iron like clay and is extremely sharp. Guan Yinping accepted the gift and was very happy.

In the spring and March of this year, Zhuge Liang led his troops from Chengdu, followed the Minjiang River, passed through Wuyang (today's Shuangjiang Town, Pengshan County, Sichuan) to Bodao (today's Yibin, Sichuan), and then divided into three routes. March: Zhuge Liang personally led the West Route Army to attack Yuexi (today's east of Xichang City, Sichuan) and attacked the Gaoding rebels from the west; Brazilian Ma Zhong led the East Route Army to attack Zangqi (near today's Guiyang City, Guizhou) from the southeast. ; Li Hui led the Middle Route Army to attack Jianning County (today's Qujing and Zhanyi areas of Yunnan) where Yongkai and Meng Huo were entrenched. Guan Yinping carried the pearl given to her by Zhang Fei and the Qingzhi sword given to her by Zhao Zilong on her back. Together with her husband Li Yi (Wei), she followed Li Hui towards Jianning.

In the mountains and narrow valleys, there are mostly miasma places. The roads are narrow and there are many poisonous snakes and scorpions. Moreover, at dusk, the miasma rises greatly, making marching and fighting very dangerous. Fortunately, Guan Yinping held a treasure that could drive away evil spirits and snakes and scorpions, so that the troops could move over mountains and valleys more smoothly and move southward.

One day, the weather was extremely hot. The soldiers were sweating profusely and thirsty. When they saw a pool of clear water, they rushed to drink it. But soon after drinking, they all became dizzy and fell to the ground.

What's going on? I asked a local old man to ask, and I found out that the mountains in this area are very hot and humid. Many birds and animals in the nearby mountains eat, drink, and live near the pool all year round, and their feces are deposited in the water. The water in the pool is poisoned, and people who drink it are poisoned and feel dizzy. , even become mute, and in severe cases, die quickly. Ask if there is any way to help. The old man said that there is a kind of grass growing by the Wan'an River more than a hundred miles away, called "leaf rue", and one leaf can be taken into the mouth to detoxify. However, what should I do if I can't pick "leaf rue" at the moment? Guan Yinping was so anxious that he put a pearl on the lips of a poisoned sergeant and touched it. The sergeant's lips opened weakly, and his pale face slowly turned rosy, and he came to his senses. "Oh, we can be saved, we can be saved!" Li Hui, Li Yi and the generals around them all opened their mouths and let out a sigh of relief. Guan Yinping's orb awakened the sergeants who were unconscious due to poisoning. The troops reorganized themselves briefly and then continued to move forward.

According to the original march route, the Central Route Army won every step of the way, and soon approached Dianchi Bazi (ie Dianchi County, east of today's Jinning County, Yunnan Province). Unexpectedly, the rebels in Jianning County suddenly gathered people from many counties, gathered on a large scale, and surrounded Li Hui's troops. Li Hui's men and horses were less than half of the enemy's, and he had no news from the other two armies. The situation was very critical. Guan Yinping was very smart and suggested that Li Hui use a strategy. He pretended to send people to tell the rebels that the coach of the Shu army and some of them were from Jianning. They had been away from their hometown for a long time and were only able to return to their hometown today. At present, the army had run out of food and grass. , planned to retreat, but could not flee back to Sichuan, otherwise he would be beheaded, so he was in a dilemma, and he also wanted to plot against Shu with the rebels.

The rebels heard this, believed it, and relaxed the siege. Li Hui immediately led his troops to attack and broke through the enemy's siege. Guan Yinping followed closely, waving the green sword, but saw the cold light flashing up and down, and blood flowing all the way. After breaking out of the encirclement, the Central Army turned defeat into victory and chased the rebels all the way to the Nanpan River, joining the momentum of the army led by Zhuge Liang

After the south was pacified, Li Hui had the most military exploits. He was named Tinghou of Hanxing (now Jianshui County, Yunnan Province), General Anhan, and served as prefect of Jianning, responsible for the important task of governing the seven counties in Nanzhong. Guan Yinping and her husband Li Yi were also sent by Zhuge Liang back to Li Hui's hometown of Nanzhong Yuyuan (now Chengjiang, Yunnan) to eliminate violence and consolidate the Shu Han's rear. In the ninth year of Jianxing (AD 231), Li Hui passed away. Li Yi inherited his father's title and succeeded him as the prefect of Jianning. Guan Yinping always assisted her husband in his work. The Nanzhong area is far away from the center of Shu Han rule. It has barren land, mountainous areas, plagues, inconvenient transportation, and backward culture. Many places are still in the barbaric period, and the economy is especially backward. It is not known to cultivate mulberry and hemp grains. No wonder Zhuge Liang called it "barren area". land". Guan Yinping always kept in mind Zhuge Liang's admonition to "focus on the heart", lived in harmony with the local people, and personally taught them farming, weaving, and reading. He brought the advanced civilization materials of the Shu Han to this "barren land" and promoted the progress of civilization in these areas. .

Guan Yinping sometimes misses his hometown and Chengdu, but he is reluctant to leave the people of Nanzhong and Yuyuan, so he gets up early every day and climbs the slope of Jinlian Mountain southeast of Yuyuan. Looking north, I put my morning makeup on. Later, this place was called the "dressing table".

The people in the Nanzhong area respect Guan Yinping very much and affectionately call her Miss Guan San. After Miss Guan San died, men, women and children from all ethnic groups near and far wore sackcloth and paid filial piety and buried her near the dressing table together with her two treasures - the pearl and the green sword. It is said that on a clear night, the top of Jinlian Mountain often sparkles, which is Miss Guan San and her treasure appearing, and anyone who sees it will get good luck.

When I just finished writing this article, a friend whose hometown is in Kunming, Yunnan, told the author that the ancient tomb of Guan Yinping on the Jinlian Mountain in the southeast of Jiucheng Village, Yousuo Town, Chengjiang County, Yunnan, is the tomb of Guan Yinping. The tomb shared with her husband Li Yi is a key cultural relic protection unit announced by the government of Yuxi City, Yunnan (Chengjiang County is under the jurisdiction of Yuxi City). Legend has it that two treasures in the tomb have been stolen by thieves. The thieves did not dare to take the land route when leaving Yu Yuan, because every pass out of Yu Yuan was connected to the temple of Yinping's younger brother Guan Suo (Guan Yu's third son). Guan Suo has become a great god, who dares to take Miss Guan San’s treasure away? The thieves took the water route, but the boat capsized on Fuxian Lake in the southwest of Chengjiang County. The thieves drowned and the two treasures sank into Fuxian Lake.
