Why is it so hot in the south?
In fact, since 10, there has been continuous high temperature weather in the south, and the scope has gradually expanded. The Central Meteorological Observatory began to issue a high temperature warning on the 7th. As of the 27th, 2 1 day has been issued continuously. The high temperature range has spread to the south 13 provinces. At present, the highest temperature in 97 counties and cities in China has reached or exceeded 40℃, and 19 counties and cities have broken the historical extreme, especially in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai.
Suong Chen, an engineer from the National Meteorological Center, said that the main features of this round of high temperature weather are long duration, wide influence range and strong extremes, and the start time is earlier than in previous years. In addition, the longest continuous high temperature days in Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Anhui, Shanghai, Fujian, Hunan, Hubei and other places are 5- 10 days, with most of Zhejiang, Shanghai, southeastern Jiangsu and other places exceeding 10 days, and the longest continuous high temperature days in Shaoxing, Cixi, Longyou and some parts of Fujian reach10 days.
According to experts, the extreme high temperature in the south is due to the strong subtropical high in the south, which is entrenched in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. Under the control of this huge heating mass, the airflow sinks, the temperature is high, and there is little rain; This weather situation also makes the typhoon path southward, which is not conducive to alleviating the high temperature. Suong Chen believes that the "culprit" of large-scale high temperature weather in South China is the western Pacific subtropical high (referred to as subtropical high), and Shanghai, southern Jiangsu and northern Zhejiang, where severe high temperatures occurred this time, are all near the center of this weather system. In addition, the subtropical high control area is prone to high temperature weather to some extent because the air will heat up during the sinking process.
In fact, this year, extreme high temperature occurred not only in the south, but also in the north and south of China. Experts explained that the early high temperature in the north was caused by the strong high pressure in the northern mainland.
From the macro-climate background, according to the existing climate attribution research, in many extreme high temperature events, in addition to the natural climate state, climate warming has also made great contributions. Among them, the data can more intuitively confirm that from 196 1 to 20 15, the number of high temperature days in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River shows an increasing trend, increasing by 0.7 days every 10 year.
Experts predict that the hot weather in the south will last for 5-7 days and will be eased around July 30. In the next three days, affected by the subtropical high, there will still be high temperature of 35-37℃ from Huanghuai to northern South China, Sichuan Basin, south-central Shaanxi and south-central Shanxi, and the local temperature may exceed 40℃, so the public needs to strengthen prevention.
Remind everyone to prevent heatstroke and cool down in hot weather.
