Nanjing, the only world cultural heritage, is known as the "First Royal Mausoleum of Ming and Qing Dynasties". Have you ever been there?
Ming Mausoleum, no stranger to many people, is located at the southern foot of Zijin Mountain and Zhongshan Scenic Area in Xuanwu District of Nanjing, surrounded by Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, Linggu Temple and Meihua Mountain. It is a national 5A-level tourist attraction, a national key cultural relic protection unit and one of the most popular tourist attractions in Nanjing. Especially in spring, when plum blossoms are in full bloom here, people come here to enjoy the flowers in an endless stream.
As can be seen from the name, this is a scenic spot with the Ming tombs as the core. Its mausoleum is the tomb where Zhu Yuanzhang, the great ancestor of the Ming Dynasty, was buried with his empress. Because the queen of Zhu Yuanzhang in posthumous title pursued filial piety all her life, she was named "Xiaoling Mausoleum".
Many people may wonder why the Ming Tombs attract so many people to visit here because they are tombs. This is inseparable from its historical significance and status. It is the only "world cultural heritage" in Nanjing.
The Ming Tombs have a long history. Built in the 14th year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty, it took 25 years to build. It has a history of more than 600 years. It is reported that100000 military workers and countless silver were used to build this mausoleum at that time, and the scale was very large. At that time, the wall built by Ming Mausoleum from Zhongshan Gate to Xiaolingwei and then to the northwest of Mausoleum was 22.5 kilometers long. At that time, more than 5,000 people were stationed, which was particularly majestic.
The construction of the Ming Mausoleum inherited the old system of imperial tombs in the Tang and Song Dynasties, that is, the mausoleum is located on the mountain and the Ming Mausoleum is located in Zijin Mountain. The surrounding mountains are undulating, and the scenery around the mountains is beautiful. It has always been regarded as a hill in Long Mai by Feng Shui experts, and its architectural layout has reached the perfect height of harmony between man and nature, which is a model of the perfect combination of culture and natural environment in traditional ancient buildings in China.
The completion of the Ming Tombs had a far-reaching impact on the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and also represented the highest architectural level and art at that time. It has had a far-reaching impact on the construction of more than 20 imperial tombs in the Ming and Qing dynasties for more than 500 years. The Ming and Qing emperors' tombs in Beijing, Hebei, Liaoning and other places were all built in accordance with the Ming tombs regulations, so the Ming tombs also have the reputation of "the first royal mausoleum in Ming and Qing dynasties".
Although the Ming Mausoleum is a mausoleum, it is extraordinary. This is the royal mausoleum. Even though most of the buildings are gone today, the pattern of the Ming tombs still retains its magnificent style, especially the underground palace of the tombs is well preserved. As for what really exists in the underground palace, it is still a mystery.
The tomb of Ming Mausoleum is divided into two parts, the first part is Shinto, and the second part is the main body of the tomb. Shinto is a place where people often play, especially this stone elephant road, which is the first section of Shinto in the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum and is about 600 meters long. Because the leaves here are red and yellow in autumn and the scenery is very beautiful, it has the reputation of "the most beautiful 600 meters in Nanjing".
On both sides of Shinto are six kinds of beasts: lion, brawn, camel, elephant, unicorn and horse. They are not only lofty symbols of imperial tombs, but also serve as symbols to ward off evil spirits, guard and etiquette.
I don't know. Have you been to the Ming Tombs when you traveled to Nanjing? What's your impression of the architectural landscape here? Do you think this place is suitable for sightseeing? Welcome to leave a comment.
