Introduction to Huayang Temple

"The purple peaks are heavy, the seams between the rocks produce longan, the sweet springs have health-preserving dew, and the Taoism is good in the cave." This poem talks about the Feng Shui landform of Huayang Temple, a Taoist resort in Jieyang City, Guangdong Province.

In the ever-changing world, the world has experienced many calamities, and the Taoist world is also unavoidable. Chonghua Rock collapsed, Guanyin Cave was abandoned, and only a corner of the mountain study room remained. Step on the steps and climb along the winding corridor. You will see cliffs on the right and bamboo shadows on the left. A gentle breeze will come. At the corner, four shining golden characters "Da Luo Bao Hall" come into view.

Daluobao Hall is an antique palace, expanded from Chonghua Rock, with a cave in the back and a hall in the front. There are caves inside the hall and halls outside the cave. The cave and hall are integrated into one, with a peculiar pattern. The cave enshrines the statues of the Taoist ancestors of the Sanqing Dynasty, Dafeng of the Song Dynasty and the Big Dipper of Nanchen. The palace's carved beams and painted buildings are ingenious workmanship. On the walls on both sides of the hall, there are gray sculptures of the four masters Zhang Daoling, Sa Shoujian, Xu Jingyang and Ge Hong, which are vivid and lifelike. The pillars of the palace have the couplet "Tao gives birth to one, one, two, two, three, and three give rise to all things; man follows the law of the earth, the heaven, the heaven, the Tao, the law of nature." Particularly eye-catching are the four traditional Chinese paintings "Plum Blossoms and Dragon Pictures" written by Taoist Meizi of Zhongnan Mountain in Chang'an and hanging on both sides of the cave. They are plum blossoms proud of the snow, but they look like two dragons grabbing treasures. , gods and miracles, endless charm.

As we walked through the scenery, we walked out of Chonghua Rock, crossed the flat path of Shimen, and arrived at Guanyin Cave. Suddenly, it seemed as if there was a mysterious force that led people into many stories of "rescuing people from distress." Looking around the green "Miaoer Bamboo" and the vast forests beside the cave, how mysterious and solemn they are, you will feel the indifferent life of the ascetics who "sweep bamboo leaves to cook tea, chop pine roots to cook vegetable roots", and arouse Infinite reverie. Saying goodbye to Guanyin Cave and looking up, it is the "Zifeng Academy" that was rebuilt from a mountain study room. The couplets on both sides of the door are elegant and unrestrained: "The purple peak is quite strange and beautiful, and the streets are linked to Chunqing. I wonder if the world is safe, but I don't know Lao Tzu; the academy is full of talents." How can it be that the hermits who returned to Taiwan did not find the Fangzheng Sutra in their listening and contemplation?" Taoism has always attached great importance to reading. In Laozi's "Tao Te Ching", there are statements such as "there is no need to worry about learning" and "the more you learn, the more you learn, and the more you lose for the Tao". It means: Absolute knowledge has no worries: "For the sake of the Tao, it will cause people to lose their desires and calculations." Most of the Taoist founders of the past dynasties, whose backgrounds can be tested, were "loving to learn and memorize", "well-versed in classics and history" or "well-versed in poetry and books, and able to observe hundreds of schools of thought", but all of them were ignorant and ignorant.

On the upper right side of Zifeng Academy, there is a huge stone standing high, with a wide and flat top, which is a natural viewing platform. Standing on the stage facing the wind, looking far away, you can have a panoramic view of the urban scenery; Zifeng Mountain stretches for hundreds of miles, bright and handsome; Bijia Mountain has three peaks standing side by side, green and lush; Xianqiao Dapingjia, Provincial Highway 1930, and Rongchi Road are busy with traffic. There is an endless stream; the Rongjiang River and the Xianqiao River are colorful with rainbow shadows; the Qionglou and jade buildings are lined up in rows, like an unfolding picture scroll, so beautiful...
