Fortunately, during the reign of Qianlong, the founder of this temple, Benyuan, made a vow to revive the temple in the sixth generation, sized up the situation, adjusted the wind and water, and moved the ancient temple under the silent forest, connecting Shuanglong and the stream by the water. Taking the far peak as a case and the back peak as a screen, it was carefully built, making Brahma solemn, with a new look, magnificent momentum and unprecedented prosperity. Huafeng Temple is not only one of the few famous Buddhist temples in South China, but also an active stronghold established by Dongjiang Column in Hefeng area during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period.

The local old people are well aware that in the Japanese encirclement and suppression, guerrillas and revolutionary masses used Huafeng Temple as a cover to avoid danger. In the famous battle of Huang Qishan, the Japanese invaders suffered heavy losses, so they vented their anger on Huafeng Temple, plundered the treasures, scriptures and materials of the ancient temple with a history of hundreds of years, dispersed the monks and burned the temple. The informed old man recalled that dozens of ancient buildings and landscapes around the whole temple burned day and night, and Huafeng Temple was completely destroyed. Most of the guerrillas who used to be active in Huafeng Temple also died in later battles.

In recent decades, due to the limitation of social and economic conditions, this ancient temple cannot be repaired. Since the reform and opening up, the government has been harmonious and everything has flourished. Local believers spontaneously raised funds, built several simple temples in the old site, and erected Buddha statues for believers to worship Buddha. During the Double Ninth Festival, believers still climb mountains and hold the Lantern Festival. With the further implementation of the national religious policy, ten believers in Guangzhou and at home and abroad strongly demand that Buddhist holy places be restored as soon as possible, that the family business of the Buddhist monk Da De Huo Dan be recruited, that Buddhism be promoted, and that the ancient temples be revived, so as to satisfy the local believers and those in the surrounding areas such as the Pearl River Delta to lead a normal religious life. With the great attention of the leaders of the United Front Work Department and the Religious Affairs Bureau of Guangdong Province and the strong support of the local government, and the great monk Yunfeng, the former director of the Guangdong Buddhist Association and the abbot of Liu Rong Temple, Ren Huafeng Temple, a well-trained and faithful sage bamboo mage of Liu Rong Temple, was specially hired to preside over the reconstruction of the ancient temple. With the help of enthusiastic people, Zhu Xian invited Cheng Jianjun, a professor from the University of Technology, to climb mountains for many times, carefully draw a blueprint for revival, and expand the territory under the premise of protecting historical sites. Its feasibility plan has been approved by the provincial, municipal and religious departments, and assisted by President Yunfeng. When Huafeng Ancient Temple resumed its normal operation, the famous monk Yunfeng died in the west. Zhu Xian, the deputy head of household, made a great wish to inherit the legacy of elders Yunfeng and build good relations. With the support of the leaders of provinces, cities and other relevant departments, he will strive to rebuild Huafeng Temple at an early date and is determined to turn it into a solemn Buddhist Dojo in South China to fulfill the wishes of all living beings. In guiding ideology, the temple insists on supporting the party's policies, abides by all government decrees, and takes the road of adapting Buddhism to socialist society. Carry out the concepts of "solemn country, happiness" and "Buddhism on earth", carry forward the correct understanding and understanding of Buddhism, protect the three treasures, cultivate talents, strictly observe Ni Kun, repay the kindness of Buddha, country, parents and all beings with practical actions, and do a good job in charity work in welfare society. In April 2002, the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Ethnic and Religious Affairs approved the Guangzhou Buddhist Association to appoint a person in charge to be fully responsible for the restoration of the temple.

Now the reconstruction project of Huafeng Temple is under way. Shi Chengxi, the chief commander of the reconstruction project and the supervisor of Huafeng Temple, told the reporter that in order to commemorate the fallen Dongjiang guerrilla martyrs and carry forward the revolutionary historical achievements of Huafeng Temple, it is planned to build a rest pavilion for the Dongjiang column monument in the temple reconstruction planning and design. This can not only comfort the martyrs in the spirit of heaven, but also provide a revolutionary history education position for local teenagers.
