Overview of Juzi Rock Paintings

Jucishan is located at the southeast foot of Songshan Mountain in Zhongyue, central Henan Province, which spans Xinzheng, Xinmi and Yuzhou. The rock paintings of Ritz Mountain are distributed in Ritz Mountain with a area of 400~600 square kilometers, which records the history of prehistoric human beings. The rock paintings of Juzi Mountain were discovered in 1980s and appeared in the news media in 1990s. Since 2008, Juzi Mountain, which has been silent for thousands of years, has become the focus of China people's attention because of its hidden more than 3,000 rock paintings. Research shows that Juzi rock paintings were formed 4,000 years ago or even earlier, during which the ancestors of the descendants of the Yellow Emperor once lived in Juzi. In a certain sense, the rock paintings of Orange Mountain are related to the origin of characters and the Huangdi era, which is in the embryonic stage of Chinese civilization.

On July 5, 2009, Yuzhou City released a message to various news media, saying that after the discovery of rock paintings, a large range of ancient megalithic architectural remains were found in Jiulishan, Kongtong Mountain, Dahongzhai Mountain and Cuihuishan, which belong to Jucishan in Yuzhou City. According to experts, this is the first time that China has discovered a major relic of ancient megalithic architecture, which may be even older than the ancient megalithic culture in western countries. Juzi, with cultural symbols such as rock paintings, spans Yuzhou, Xinzheng and Xinmi, most of which are in Xinzheng and Yuzhou. On the morning of the 6th, xinzheng city held a press conference, announcing the discovery of a batch of megalithic cultural remains in Jucishan, Xinzheng. The study of rock paintings in Juzi is rich in connotation, including boulders, altars and stone architectural sites. It is a relatively complete and large-scale group of ancient stone buildings in the Central Plains that can be confirmed at present, and it is one of the important discoveries in the field of archaeological relics in recent years. It has the following characteristics.

(1) Lots of rock paintings. In the four investigations conducted successively, * * * found more than 2,000 rock paintings, including nearly 10,000 individual rock paintings. These rock paintings greatly enriched the connotation of ancient culture in the Central Plains.

(2) Rock paintings are widely distributed. It is distributed in the mountainous area of Juzi, covering an area of 400-600 square kilometers. The rocks in the mountains are scattered like pieces of paper, which provides a natural carrier for recording the thoughts and lives of the ancients.

(3) There are many kinds of rock paintings. There are many types of rock paintings in Juzishan, such as single hole, multi-hole scattered distribution, double-row hole, plum blossom ring hole, square hole, groove, grid, figure modeling, concrete human figure and so on. , rich in content. Most rock paintings have image characteristics, but there are few concrete contents. This is the biggest difference between Orange Mountain Rock Painting and other places, and it also provides a new source of information for the study of ancient culture in the Central Plains.

(4) The depiction of rock paintings has certain regularity. There are more than six double-row holes and plum blossom ring holes in the rabbit rock paintings. However, there are obvious differences between them. Double-row cavities often have one or two single cavities at the top, bottom, left and right or in the middle. The number of cavities around the plum blossom ring cavity is also between 5- 1 1.

(5) Rock paintings are very old. In the investigation of rock paintings at the end of 2008, two rock paintings covered with red-brown ancient soil were found. According to Zhou Kunshu, an expert on loess in Joo Won  and a researcher at China Academy of Sciences, this rock painting covered under a 36-cm-deep soil layer is about 4,000 years old. However, according to the research results of the world rock painting research center and famous domestic rock painting experts on the world cave rock painting, the age of the cave rock painting in Juzishan may appear before 10000 years, which fully shows the long history of the cave rock painting in Juzishan.
