The Eight Immortals Palace, or the Eight Immortals Temple for short, is the largest and most famous Taoist temple in Xi? Wanshou Eight Immortals Palace, formerly known as Eight Immortals Temple, was built in an unknown era. According to Qianlong's Annals of Xi 'an and Jiaqing's Annals of Xianning, in the Song Dynasty, Zheng Sheng met the Eight Immortals in Changle Square, so he built a temple to offer sacrifices. The Mirror of True Immortals and Taoism records that Yan Lu met Zhong Liquan in Huichang in the Tang Dynasty, and gained the Tao from Huang Liang's dream, which is the origin of the story of "Eight Immortals". In the 26th year of Guangxu reign (1900), Eight-Nation Alliance invaded Beijing. Empress Dowager Cixi and Emperor Guangxu once lived in the Eight Immortals Temple when they took refuge in xi 'an. They donated silver for renovation and awarded the temple the title of "Building the Eight Immortals Palace", hence the name.
