Character source
At first, the story of Yong Dong in folklore was just an ordinary story of a farmer's filial son in Han Dynasty, but history chose Yong Dong as a model of social filial piety, which has been passed down to this day.
The stone reliefs of Han Dynasty unearthed in Jiaxiang, Shandong Province are vividly engraved with Yong Dong's stories, such as "Father on a Deer Car", "Plowing Farmland" and "Plowing Birds Like Fields". The words "Dong Yongqian is also a guest" engraved on the stone relief are conclusive evidence that "Dong Yongshi is a real person and his hometown is Boxing, Shandong".
