What do you mean by "I don't know it's embarrassing, but I'm still confident in it"?

It doesn't matter if no one knows me, as long as they keep their hearts really fragrant and soft.

Li Sao was written by Qu Yuan, a poet in the Warring States Period.

The original excerpt is as follows:

I'll leave you if I can't get in. If you retreat, you will resume your first service. Making lotus is making clothes, and picking hibiscus is making clothes. I don't know. It's embarrassing. I feel like I believe it. High risk is at stake, and Pei is far away. Fang and Ze were mixed, but they didn't lose. If you suddenly swim back, you will see four shortcomings.

The translation is as follows:

Since you have committed the crime of not making progress, come back and rebuild my old clothes.

I want to cut diamond leaves into a coat, and I want to weave a skirt with lotus flowers.

No one knows me, as long as my heart is really sweet and soft.

Hold my hat high and make my clothes long.

Although fragrance is mixed with clean dirt, only pure quality will not rot.

I suddenly turned around and looked into the distance. I would visit distant places around me.

works appreciation

As a masterpiece, Li Sao is extremely rich in ideological content, which can be summarized into two aspects. One is to describe the contradiction between poets and dynasty rulers, that is, the opposition between ideal and reality; The second is to describe the pain and entanglement of the poet's mind, that is, the contradiction between enterprising and retiring. As for its content level, there have always been various ways to divide it. Generally speaking, the whole poem can be divided into three parts plus a ceremony.

The first part is from the monologue and self-image at the beginning to "I can punish my spare heart". The poet first narrates his noble life experience, which shows that he has an innate "inner beauty". Talk about a person's virtue and talent again. With innate talent and nurture, a person should have been determined to devote himself to a great cause long ago. Then, the author narrates his expectation for Chu Huaiwang, expecting him to practice his statutes and ride a galloping horse. The poet is willing to be a pioneering new work of Chu Reform.

However, there was a struggle between innovation and conservatism within the ruling group of Chu at that time. The poet quoted the holy king to inspire Wang Huai to follow suit, and cited the tyrant's practice to warn Wang Huai. However, due to Wang Huai's conformism, abandoning the contract and changing his mind, the result was that "party member" was rampant, the world was corrupted, and even the talents carefully cultivated by poets became vulgar.

The poet fell into a helpless situation and was rejected. Faced with the sinister political environment, the poet once had the idea of retiring, but in the end he expressed regret for upholding justice and was determined to stick to his virtue and noble sentiment.

The second part, from "women's happiness" to "how can I endure all this forever", from the appearance of women's images, from the realm of reality to the realm of virtual fantasy. Seeing the poet's pain, the woman was very angry. Starting from her desire to love poets, she advised poets to take the tragedy of guns as a warning. In a society where there is no right and wrong, loyalty will not be seen by the world, or even killed. Therefore, he was told not to be like Geng Jie, but to be wise and go with the flow.

Hearing this, the poet did not agree, and his faith did not waver. Women can't really understand poets, which shows that there is no confidant in the world. So the poet went to the surreal field to pursue the truth. He traveled across Yuanxiang and delivered a speech to Shun Di and Zhong Hua, recounting the rise and fall of Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties and expressing his ideal of "beautiful politics".

He sighed and wept for his unsuccessful ambition. Even though he died, his determination to stick to his ideal remained unchanged. After the speech, he turned to travel around the world in the form of fantasy, searching up and down, looking for like-minded confidants and ways to realize his ideals. Finally, the search up and down failed. Everything in heaven and earth is "turbid", covering beauty as evil and envy as talent.
