Huangqiao Fortune Teller _ Xingqiao Fortune Teller
Huangqiao, formerly known as loess bridge, is named after loess bridge, which straddles Hezhen River. It is recorded in Wumen Biaoyin that the tombs of Jiang Shen, the magistrate of Shuozhou, and Ganzhou, the supervisor of vocational school, are in loess bridge. Jiang Shen and Ganzhou were both from the early Qing Dynasty, when loess bridge belonged to Changzhou.
Huangqiao town in Xiangcheng District is located in the north of Tiger Hill, along the 3 12 National Highway and Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway. It is a famous fish town, a famous centralized fish culture area and a fish fry and fingerling base in Suzhou. As early as the end of the Ming Dynasty and the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, there was fry breeding in Huangqiao Beizhuangji (now Hedong). Gan Long's Suzhou Fu Zhi said: "There are a lot of fish in Nanbei Village of Changzhou" and pointed out that the fry are "as thin as needles". The herring in Huangqiao has a long reputation. Before the founding of the People's Republic of China, it sold well in Shanghai, the Soviet Union and other places. Now it is sold to Beijing in the north and Hong Kong in the south. The "Yellow Bridge Pink Green" produced by Beizhuangji is the top grade of herring and is well received by the market.
Huangqiao is also known as the old revolutionary base area. The vast waters here, criss-crossing rivers, ports and lakes, are a good place to carry out guerrilla warfare against the enemy. At that time, the underground workers of the Communist Party of China and the guerrillas of the New Fourth Army in Suzhou, Wuxi and Changzhou were active here. They used this water battlefield to fight against the Japanese puppet troops and won again and again.
Today, this 300-year-old fish town has changed. Thousands of private enterprise bosses have sprung up in this street, and thousands of private enterprises have propped up the Huangqiao Economic Building, becoming a well-known "boss town". Now, its title is "Suzhou New Small Town" and it has the reputation of "Hometown of Private Enterprises". In the past, Huangqiao was a small town with a street length of less than 100 meters and fewer than 100 households. Now it has become a modern small town with industrial and commercial entities, cultural, educational and health facilities and a new living area.
