Wansheng does not belong to Qijiang District. Wansheng Economic and Technological Development Zone is directly managed by the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government. Wansheng Economic and Technological Development Zone is located in the southwest of Chongqing City and belongs to Chongqing's one-hour economic circle, 70 kilometers away from the main urban area of Chongqing.
It borders Nanchuan District to the east, Tongzi County, Zunyi City, Guizhou Province to the south, Qijiang District to the west and north, and is located on the border of Chongqing and Guizhou. It is an important position for Chongqing’s southward opening up and development. As of the end of 2019, Wansheng Economic Development Zone governed 2 streets and 8 towns, covering an area of 566 square kilometers and a permanent population of approximately 300,000.
Climate
Wansheng District belongs to the subtropical humid monsoon climate zone of the Sichuan Basin. It has a mild climate, abundant rainfall, four distinct seasons, a long frost-free period, warm winters and early springs, rainy early summers, and hot and dry summers. There are continuous rains in autumn, clouds and sunshine in winter, and there are many types of disastrous weather. It also has mountainous climate characteristics with large regional differences.
The regional terrain is higher in the east and lower in the west, with a huge height difference. The temperature changes with the year, and the vertical differences are obvious. The annual average temperature is 18.1℃, the extreme maximum temperature is 41.7℃, and the extreme minimum temperature is -0.9℃. The average temperature in July, the hottest month, is 27.9℃, and in January, the coldest month, the average temperature is 7.9℃. There are large vertical temperature differences within the region.

Wansheng District’s tourism resources are unique. It has biological ecological resources and natural landscapes integrating mountains, water, springs, forests and caves. It is characterized by high mountains and rocky areas. It is famous for its steepness, dense forests, dangerous gorges, beautiful water, beautiful waterfalls and strange caves.
