A glimpse of Youxue Qionglin, recalling ancient enlightenment
Generally speaking, it was compiled by Cheng (word) in Ming Dynasty, but some people say that the editor was Qiu Zhuo, a scholar in Jingtai period of Ming Dynasty.
The present book is Zou Shengmai's supplementary notes on the original basis during Jiaqing period of Qing Dynasty, and later it was renamed Qionglin, a story of kindergarten learning, referred to as Qionglin for short.
"Learning in Kindergarten" shows that the nature of this book is children's enlightenment reading, and "Qionglin" has two meanings here:
First, "Qionglin Library", which originated from one of the royal private libraries established in Tang Dezong, has a rich collection of books and everything. It is a treasure house of knowledge, that is to say, the book is rich in allusions, such as beautiful jade.
Secondly, it is taken from Joan Lin Yuan in the Song Dynasty. Joan Lin Yuan was the place where the Emperor of the Song Dynasty hosted a banquet for the new Jinshi. Therefore, later generations often compare "Lin Qiong" to a scholar in the senior high school entrance examination.
Therefore, naming it after "Qionglin" is also the editor's good wishes and ardent expectations for Mongolian children, aiming to encourage them to study hard, study hard, get on the gold medal list as soon as possible and succeed in their studies.
There are more than 30,000 words, four volumes and thirty-three categories in the book, covering astronomical geography, family ethics, solar terms and folk customs, imperial examinations, diet and daily life, flowers and trees, birds and animals, court utensils, myths and legends, religious superstitions and even life. It is a relatively complete comprehensive knowledge reading in China and is known as the ancient encyclopedia.
