In 2004, Fudong Town merged. The jurisdiction is adjacent to Taihu Lake in the east, Changxing County in Zhejiang Province in the south, Hufu Town in the west, Yicheng Town and Dabu Town in the north. In 2005, Dingshu Town governed Dingxi, Shuangqiao, Yinjia, Wang Xi, Shushan, Shu Tong, Fangxi, Sandong Bridge, Zhou Shu, Youli, Jianxin, Shu Ren, Hongwei, Zhaozhuang, Li Jiang, Shangba, Huangchuan, Ganlong, Dagang, Lanshan and Fudong. In 2006, Yixing Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government decided to adjust the management ownership of some administrative villages under Huankeyuan, and put six administrative villages, namely Chuanbu Village, Chalin Village, Luo Jian Village, Luo Qian Village, Touyang Village and Zisha Village, under the management of Dingshu Town.
In 2005, the town governed six villages, namely Shuangmiao, Nanwan, Shidang, Beitang, Zhang Ze, Mo You, Linshan, Nanyuan, Dashu, Mao Qi, Qian Fang, Tai Po, Punan, Pubei, Tangzhuang, Dewey, Yangzhu and Yang 'an, and two communities, Zhang Ze and Tai Po Street.
