Three major steel bases
Including Anshan Iron and Steel Company and Benxi Iron and Steel Company.
Located in the central industrial zone of Liaoning, it is adjacent to Qian Shan Mountains in the east, Taizi River, a tributary of Liaohe River in the north, Qianli Plain on both sides and Bohai Bay in the south.
The distance between Anshan and Benxi Iron and Steel Company is only 10O km.
The surrounding resources are abundant, and the proven reserves of iron ore are nearly 100 billion tons, of which industrial reserve has more than 4 billion tons, ranking first among the major bases.
The existing iron ore mining capacity is about 40 million tons, making it the largest iron ore base in China.
1990 the output of iron ore (raw ore) reached more than 38 million tons, accounting for more than 50% of the total iron ore output in China.
The main iron ore bases in Angang are: Donganshan, Qianshan, Qidashan and Dagushan, which are only 10 ~ 20km away from Angang and are distributed in an arc shape.
Bengang has: Nanfen and Waitou Mountain, which are located in the south and north of Bengang, respectively, about 25 kilometers apart.
Central Liaoning is also rich in coal resources, including Benxi Lake (Caitun), Hongyang (Shen Nan) and other coal mines, which are within100km from the steel base.
However, due to long-term mining, the coal in this area is not enough for the iron and steel industry.
After more than 40 years of reconstruction and expansion, Aberdeen Steel Base is still the largest steel base in China.
2. Wuhan Iron and Steel Base
WISCO, located along the Yangtze River in Qingshan District, Wuchang, is a large-scale iron and steel industrial base newly built in China after 1949.
At present, it has formed a comprehensive production capacity of 6 million tons of ironmaking, 5 million tons of steelmaking, 4 million tons of hot rolling, 6.5438+0.22 million tons of cold rolling and 6.5438+0.9 million tons of silicon steel sheets.
The main products are: medium profile, thin plate, medium plate, large profile, strip steel and so on. It is the largest steel plate production base in China.
WISCO enjoys superior geographical location, convenient land and water transportation, flat and wide land, and is close to the consumption area.
Edong iron mine is the main ore producing area of WISCO, and the ore produced is of high grade and contains beneficial components such as copper. However, limited reserves and deep burial are the limiting factors for the further development of WISCO.
In the future, we can consider using the Yangtze River to transport water, import some rich minerals appropriately, and give full play to the capacity of the 1.7-meter rolling mill.
3. Baotou Steel Base
Baotou Steel, located on both banks of Kundulun River in Baotou New District, Inner Mongolia, is one of the national key construction projects during the First Five-Year Plan period in China.
It was officially put into production during the second five-year plan period.
Baotou steel base is close to iron and coal.
The ore base is located in Bayan Obo, only150km away from the south of the plant, and there are railways and highways from Baotou to Baicheng.
There is Shiguaigou Coal Mine about 80 kilometers northeast of the factory.
Baotou Steel is close to the Yellow River, with flat terrain and good water conditions.
1990 output is 25 10000 tons of iron, 2.52 million tons of steel and 0/53000 tons of steel.
Baotou Iron and Steel Company is not only a large-scale iron and steel complex in China, but also the most important rare earth production base in China.
Baotou Mine has a huge rare earth resource mine, ranking first in the world in reserves, and has the reputation of "hometown of rare earths".
