The origin of July
July was named after Julius Caesar, the Roman ruler, who set his birth month as 3 1 day. August is the birth month of the Roman emperor, named after him. When he came to power to revise the calendar, he took a day off in February (when February was the month of trial of criminals) and added it to his birth month to become 3 1 day.
