How to determine the specific date of dog days;
The date of the dog days is determined according to the "Ganzhi Day" in ancient China. Every year, the third "Geng" day from summer is the beginning period, the fourth "Geng" day is the middle period, and the first "Geng" day from autumn is the end period, which are collectively called "dog days". "Geng" is the word "Geng" in Ten Days' Work. The interval between ridges is 10 day, and the time of the first arrival is fixed at 10 day.
The time from the middle period of lodging to the end of lodging is not fixed, because the date of lodging is the first Geng Day after beginning of autumn. When there are four Geng days before beginning of autumn, the time interval from the middle lodging stage to the end lodging stage is 10 day. In the first five shifts of beginning of autumn solstice, the time interval from the middle lodging stage to the end lodging stage is 20 days.
