What happened to a Thai flight at Nanjing Airport?

Recently, a Thai flight was struck by lightning while descending at Nanjing Airport and its engine was damaged. Fortunately, it landed successfully.

Affected by the cold air from the north, thunderstorms and strong winds have occurred in Nanjing, Jiangsu and other places since March 15. We received news from Nanjing Lukou International Airport that flight XW887 from Bangkok, Thailand to Nanjing was struck by lightning while landing at Nanjing Lukou International Airport last night, causing damage to one of the aircraft's engines. Fortunately, the flight landed smoothly and 400 people were on board. Many passengers entered the country safely.

It is understood that due to damage to the engine, the fault could not be eliminated in a short time, and the flight was canceled at around 9:00 that night. The Nanjing Border Inspection Station immediately adopted an emergency plan and temporarily opened a special channel to handle customs clearance procedures for more than 400 passengers who were preparing to take the flight to Thailand. The aircraft is currently still undergoing maintenance at Nanjing Lukou International Airport.
