A short story about the origin of the village name "Langlei Village"

Langlei Village is divided into Donglanglei Village, Xilanglei Village and Nanlanglei Village.

Speaking of Langlei Village, I also have "a hundred thousand whys" in my heart like others. Why is there no "Beilanglei Village"? Why do girls in Yangjiaying Village never marry Langlei Village? Is it really related to "Langlei Village" that "Yangjiabo Village" does not build buildings? It is said that "Lang" is homophonic with "Wolf" and "North" is homophonic with "Ba". Isn't "Beilang Base" "Palang"? Girls in Yangjiaying Village never marry Langlei Village because "Yang" enters the mouth of "Lang". Can this be done? No way! ! . "Yangjiabo Village" does not build buildings. Because "Yang" is too high and conspicuous, it will be discovered by "Lang". In short, it is not good.

As a native of Langlei, I am also dubious about the legends of these hometown names. After consulting the information, I realized that the word "Lang" in Lang Lei Village had nothing to do with "Wolf". This should start with the statement that "Wang Lang exiled Liu Xiu" in Twenty-four History.

Liu Xiu was the first emperor of the Eastern Han Dynasty in China. Born in lankao county, Henan Province in 6th BC. His parents died when he was 9 years old, and he was raised by his uncle Liu Liang. In 22 AD, 27-year-old Liu Xiu joined the rebel army led by Liu Xuan. In February of the following year, Liu Xuan proclaimed himself emperor and appointed Liu Xiu as an ordinary general. At that time, Liu Xiuling led the troops to Lianye County and Yancheng City, and killed follwed 65438+ ten thousand troops, bleeding hundreds of miles. Since then, Wang Mang's regime has been devastated and lost its ability to control the whole country. Seeing that the time had come, Liu Xuan named Liu Xiu Xiao Wang and sent him to the north of the Yellow River to lobby local officials. At that time, there was a Mr. Feng Shui named Wang Lang in Handan, Hebei. When he saw that people all over the world were in this state of mind, he lied that he was Liu Ziyu, the son of Emperor Han Cheng, an authentic descendant of the royal family and should inherit the throne. Local state and county officials, some of whom believed him, sought refuge from him. Shortly after Liu Xiugang arrived in Handan, he was discovered by Wang Lang. Afraid of exposure, he immediately issued a wanted order and personally led troops to arrest him. Seeing that the situation was not good, Liu Xiu fled south along the eastern foot of Taihang Mountain.

Wang Lang came to Linzhou to chase Liu Xiu. When I arrived in Qi Lin Basin, I saw the magnificent mountains and rivers and fertile land here, and I left happily. I stationed troops here to build a city, and the place name "Cheng Lang" began here. After the establishment of the Eastern Han Dynasty, people suspected that Wang Lang had a bad reputation, so they took the meaning that "the village is located in the north of Qihe River" (Hebei was called Yang in ancient times) and renamed it "Qiyangcheng".

When Wang Lang was king in Cheng Lang, Liu Xiu had escaped from Linzhou. But he didn't return to Nanyang. But like hide-and-seek, he took Wang Lang for a big circle, returned to Hebei, and took refuge in Wang Lang's enemy Xindu (now Zaoqiang County, Hebei Province), the satrap of Ren Guang. After only two years of development, Liu Xiu controlled most of the area north of the Yellow River. In AD 24, Liu Xiu appointed his general Kou Xun as the satrap of Hanoi, and ordered him to organize troops and people to quickly besiege Cheng Lang occupied by Wang Lang at all costs and annihilate it on the spot. Linzhou at that time was one of 18 counties under the jurisdiction of Hanoi county. After Kou Xun took office, he made all counties prepare for the war. Wang Lang reacted immediately after hearing the news. When he learned that there was a canyon in the west of Cheng Lang, and there were many trees in the canyon, which were good materials for making gun poles, he decided to use them all to make gun poles. Unexpectedly, the news was learned by Kou Xun. That night, he cut down all the trees in this ditch and built tens of thousands of gun poles. The next day, Wang Lang led the troops here, and when he saw the trees on the slope disappeared overnight, he was scared to retreat. At this point, Cheng Lang has been occupied by Liu Xiu's army, and Wang Lang has no choice but to flee northward along Mizoguchi Mountain Road. They bypassed the county seat and crossed the Lingyang River. Seeing that the mountains and rivers in this area are easy to keep and retreat, they wanted to fight Kou Xun with the natural defense line around the water. So he ordered his men to build a coast on this wall to intercept the pursuers. He never imagined that these fortifications had not been repaired, and Kou Xun's pursuers had followed and destroyed all the fortifications. Wang Lang had no choice but to flee to the north in a hurry. Kou Xun chased all the way to Hebei and finally caught Wang Lang. In May of that year, he was killed in Handan.

Wang Lang fortified Linzhou and later formed three villages, namely Donglanglei, Xilanglei and Nanlanglei. It seems that the "wave" in "Langlei Village" really has nothing to do with the "wolf", but with a man named Wang Lang.
