And because ethylene-propylene rubber belongs to the rubber category and has high elasticity and good low-temperature properties, ethylene-propylene PP is a good toughening modifier. Mixing ethylene-propylene rubber with PP can improve the impact properties and low-temperature brittleness of PP.
(2) Toughening of inorganic rigid particles
In recent years, with the improvement of surface treatment technology of inorganic rigid particles, the interface bonding between inorganic particles and PP has been strengthened, and the inorganic rigid particles have become stronger. The dispersion ability in PP increases, and the inorganic particles not only enhance the PP but also produce a magical toughening effect. The filling amount has also increased from the previous upper limit of 40% to 60% to 70%.
(3) Inorganic nanomaterial toughening
Inorganic nanoparticles have fewer surface defects, more unpaired atoms, and a large specific surface area. They can control the crystallization behavior and crystal structure of PP through particle effects.
